Diet, exercise and thinking nice thoughts only get a girl so far in the battle to stay beautiful.
At 73, Raquel Welch seems to be relying on a few other tricks to keep her reputation as a sexy septuagenarian.
That impossibly glossy mane? Look a little closer and you’ll see a distinct band of fabric along Miss Welch’s hairline.
It appears to be part of a weave - a type of wig which can be added to natural hair to give the impression of thicker, more lustrous locks. The device, which has strands of hair attached, is designed to be glued to the hairline to give the impression of thicker and stronger hair.
You can hardly blame her. With such a magnificent bust, blinding white smile and figure-hugging leopardskin dress, a wispy hairdo just wouldn’t look right.
The Golden Globe winner flaunted her famous hour-glass figure in a spotted pencil dress, which she accessorised with a pair of towering heels.
The former Playboy cover girl, born Jo Raquel Tejada, became one of the world's biggest sex symbols during the 1960s following her performance in 1966 film One Million Years B.C. where she famously wore a doeskin bikini.
The poster took pride of place on the bedroom walls of millions of adolescent boys and made her a star.
She went on to make more than 40 films, sharing the screen with leading men such as Frank Sinatra and, along the way, turning down unwelcome overtures from other famous names such as Elvis Presley and Richard Burton.
In a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, Miss Welch said women should accept growing old. 'I want them to stop being scared of it because it's just another chapter in life,' she said.

'I want to encourage them to really embrace it and go with it.'
The mother-of-two, who split from her fourth husband, restaurateur Richard Palmer, 15 years her junior, in 2003, has always denied having any cosmetic surgery to maintain her looks, which saw her signed up as the face of MAC cosmetics at the age of 66.
She once claimed she spent up to ten hours a day keeping herself in shape through a combination of yoga sessions, weight training, healthy eating and her make-up regime.
'I've always been a health fanatic,' she said.

'I found out a long time ago that if I indulged by stuffing my face with great food, lying about reading books and watching TV or talking on the phone, I was not a happy camper.
'Turning 60 was not a happy time. I didn't think "I'm falling apart", but I did re-examine my priorities.
'I'm far more ready to go with the flow now because I am more accepting of myself.'
Married four times, she has a son, Damon, 53, and daughter, Tahnee, 51.
