But that wasn't the case for Simon Cowell's four group finalists, who got to pay a visit to his Beverly Hills mansion ahead of the first Live Shows.
Alex & Sierra, Restless Road, RoXxy Montana and Sweet Suspense all looked pretty excited when they rolled up to the luxurious pad on Sunday.

The groups were filming a few segments for next week's show which will see them perform for the first time on stage at CBS Television City in Los Angeles.
And it seems like the boys in Restless Road - Andrew Scholz, Colton Pack, and Zach Beeken - were more than interested with taking a look at one of their mentor's expensive sports cars.
The boyband sailed straight through to live shows after getting a standing ovation for their performance of Keith Urban hit Someone Like You.

Epic digs: Cowell's house is 7,265 square feet, and contains four bedrooms and four bathrooms, spread out over two stories.
While singing couple, Alex & Sierra, had to brave Demi Lovato's cynicism when they performed
stripped down version of You're The One That I Want from the Grease soundtrack.
'You guys are probably one of my favourite acts in this whole competition,' said Demi. 'Now here comes my tough love. I hate to be this person but from a business perspective you have to ask, “What would happen if you ever broke up?”'
Alex and Sierra got together in 2009, but are confident enough to know they are never ending, a sentiment Simon supported fully when he shushed Lovato and said he wouldn't have asked that question: 'Actually, I wouldn't. I'm actually more optimistic than you are. Yeah, really.'

Sweet Suspense were formed during the competition, when solo artists Millie Thrasher Summer Reign and Celine Polenghi didn't make the cut.
Cowell brought them back as a group instead, and they sang Beyoncé's version of the Rose Royce classic Wishing On A Star top secure their place as one of Simon's finalists.
The final act to make the cut on team Cowell, was Roxxy Montana, the girl group made up of the granddaughters of legendary soul singer Marvin Gaye.
Sisters, Tenija, Tiara, and Temperance - who learnt to sing in church, with some help from their pastor parents - sang Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror.
The first live show will take place on Tuesday, October 29
