'He destroyed our family': Katie Price accuses Peter Andre of 'building his career by trashing hers'

Katie Price has blamed her ex-husband Peter Andre for breaking up her ‘happy family’ and accused him of ‘trashing’ her to help his own career. 
The mother-of-four has opened up about her devastation in a new book – Love, Lipstick And Lies – which is being serialised in The Sun. 
Speaking about her pain following the split, she writes: ‘It felt to me he was building up his own career by trashing mine.’

And she admits that despite it being four years since he walked out she still doesn’t understand what happened.
She continues: ‘I thought we had a secure, happy family, something which I have always wanted. But that happy family was destroyed when Pete walked out - telling me it was over in a phone call.
‘To this day he has never properly spoken to me about why left so I could never get any closure on our marriage.’

In the extract Katie reveals that at the time he left her she was still coming to terms with losing their third child to a miscarriage.
The couple, who met during their time on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Me, have two children together – Junior, 8, and Princess, 6. 
She admits that after he walked out on her she knew she would never be able to trust him again, particularly after he began promoting his new album shortly after the split – raising questions in her mind if publicity may have played a part in his decision.

After the split Katie reveals that she found it hard seeing him ‘being held up as some kind of saint’ while she received negative publicity and was even called Jordan in the press again. 
The business woman writes that she struggled not only because of the on-going legal action between them but also due to the comments made by Pete about her in the press.
She recalls an image of Princess wearing false eye-lashes and make-up which caused a stir.
At the time she writes that Pete laughed about the picture but when things turned sour between them he blasted her for allowing their daughter to dress up.

Katie married Pete in 2005 before announcing they were separating in 2009.
The former glamour model went on to marry Alex Reid in 2010 and divorce him a year later in 2011.
She is now married to Keiran Hayler and they have just welcomed their first child together Jett Riviera.

Pete is currently in a relationship with Emily MacDonagh and they are expecting their first child together.
