Getting down to business! Jennifer Lopez ties her hair up in a bun as she arrives for American Idol auditions

It's been a while since she last sat behind that blinding blue desk.
But Jennifer Lopez looked like she'd never been away as she strutted into American Idol on Wednesday.
With her hair tied up in a bun and her curves squeezed into a businesslike pencil shift dress, the returning judge seemed ready to get started.

Back to work: After a year's absence, the singer was keen to take up her spot on the judging panel

JLo is back following a year's absence, having brought her star power to seasons 10 and 11 of the hit show.

After months of speculation, she and her fellow judges were only confirmed for the upcoming 13th season of American Idol on Tuesday.
Joining her was Keith Urban, who looked every inch the star in his deliberately distressed band shirt and leather jacket.

As the trio got down to work in Boston on Wednesday the first official photo was released of the three superstars sitting behind their infamous desk.

Lopez, 44, is understandably beaming from ear to ear as she takes centrestage, flanked by Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.

The casually-dressed trio are no strangers to the reality TV juggernaut that has catapulted the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood to international stardom.

While Australian country star Keith, 45, is returning for his second stint after last year's addition to the judging panel.

Newbie Harry rounds out the smaller panel, which has typically featured four judges in the past.

The 45-year-old crooner has previously appeared on the show as a mentor and is thrilled to have been upgraded for 2014.

'I have always been a huge fan of American Idol and really enjoyed my time as a mentor on the show,' he says. 'I am honored that they've asked me to be a judge this season.

'As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to American Idol and to help emerging performers find their way.'

Also returning is host with the most Ryan Seacrest, 38, who has been at the helm since the series' premiere way back in 2002.

Former judge Randy Jackson will also be back on the show that made him a household name - albeit in a different capacity - after announcing his departure in May.

The 57-year-old music producer will replace Jimmy Iovine as the in-house mentor to the contestants.
