He's a Hollywood legend and has starred in the likes of cult classics Scarface and The Godfather.
But it would seem that despite being one of the world's best-loved actors, Al Pacino is not the most recognisable.
The
74-year-old screen star joked that eager fans continually confuse him
for fellow movie greats, Dustin Hoffman, 77, and Robert De Niro, 71,
when they spot him out and about.
Who's that guy? Despite being one of
the world's best-loved actors, it would seem that Hollywood legend Al
Pacino is not the most recognisable
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, he said: 'I get "Hi Dustin" or "Hi Robert" or "Hi Bob" all the time.
'They
get the same thing. But I can understand it – we are those three actors
who came out of the 1970s and
I think sometimes that gets confusing.'
And it seems to be a case of life imitating art for the movie icon.
In
his latest movie, The Humbling, a feature adaptation of Philip Roth's
novel, Al plays an ageing star who is repeatedly confused with someone
else.

Luckily
in reality, Al has his stunning girlfriend Lucila Sola, 35, to help him
avoid becoming red-faced over the continual confusion.
The swarthy actor has been with the stunning brunette, who is nearly half his age, for more than four years.
The
star has never been married, but he shares custody of his 13-year-old
twins Anton James and Olivia Rose with ex-partner Beverly D'Angelo.
Al
recently revealed to Loaded magazine that he didn't initially want the
part of Michael Corleone in epic gangster flick The Godfather - and
disagreed with director Francis Coppola about the decision.
Hollywood legend: Pacino shot to fame starring in cult classic, The Godfather
Al
beat actors Jack Nicholson, Robert Redford and Warren Beatty - who were
more famous at the time - to land the role which he became famous
around the globe for.
The veteran actor said: 'I didn't want to do The Godfather. I didn't know what was going on,
'I
thought, "How am I going to play this part?"' He added: 'No one wanted
me. Except for Coppola who was, I thought, a bit mad. He just wanted me.
Even I said, "What are you doing Francis? They don’t want me".
'Of
course Warner Brothers said, "Who is this kid?! Why do you like this
kid? What do you see?" I thought, "He’s going to lose his job". They
didn't want Brando either, all due respect.'
