Hollywood
lost another legend on Tuesday as it was announced that Lauren Bacall
died aged 89 following a stroke, just a day after the death of Robin
Williams.
And Lauren’s fellow actors were quick to pay tribute to the Big Sleep star.
Alyssa
Milano was one of the first to share kind words on Twitter in Lauren’s
honour, writing: ‘Rest with the angels, Lauren Bacall...’

Her
Charmed co-star Rose McGowan was also saddened by the news and shared
on Instagram: 'Lauren Bacall. The greats are leaving us.'
Jenny
McCarthy starred opposite Lauren in the 1999 movie Diamonds and gushed
that
she had been very fortunate to work with such a celebrated actress.
'I
had the amazing opportunity to work with Lauren Bacall in the movie
Diamonds. She was one of a kind. #legend #RIP,' she wrote on Twitter
alongside a screenshot which showed them in the film.
It was evident that John Cusack was in shock as he tweeted ‘RIP star struck’, before adding that Lauren was a ‘legend’.

Mia
Farrow, who was married to Frank Sinatra a few years after he dated
Lauren, referred to the star by her given name Betty. 'Now we've lost
the great Lauren Bacall,' she tweeted. 'RIP dear Betty.'
As
well as paying tribute, Alec Baldwin told everyone to read one of
Lauren's books, sharing: 'The great Betty Bacall is gone. Read her first
autobiography, BY MYSELF. I love that book.'
And a sad
Larry King reflected on the time he had spent with the late legend.
'Sorry to learn of Lauren Bacall's passing,' he tweeted. 'I interviewed
her a few times & we did a special at the Kennedy Center one
evening. Rest in peace.'
Marlee
Matlin, best known for her Oscar winning performance in Children Of A
Lesser God, will miss Lauren's sage advice the most.

pair together. 'Give 'em hell in heaven Betty. RIP.'
I
Dream Of Jeannie's Barbara Eden also starred in the TV adaptation of
Lauren's movie How To Marry A Millionaire, and said: 'RIP
Lauren Bacall, a silver screen legend. You will forever be in our
memories.'
Meanwhile,
Jaimie Alexander was clearly stunned as she posted: ‘Wow. Another
legend gone. RIP Lauren Bacall. You inspired me beyond measure,’ while
Danica McKellar echoed the same sentiments with the words: ‘RIP another
legend.’
It wasn’t
just the world of the big screen who were moved by Lauren’s death, and
there were plenty of musicians who paid their respects too.

icon, writing: ‘"Imagination is the highest kite one can fly." Another
legend lost today. Rest in Peace Lauren Bacall.’
And burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese was grateful to have met Lauren once. 'Sad to hear we've lost one of the last legends of the Golden Age of Hollywood,' she tweeted. 'I met Lauren Bacall once... a serious "pinch me!" moment!'

Hollywood icon Lauren Bacall dies at age 89
A
family member revealed to the gossip site TMZ that the actress passed
away Tuesday morning from a massive stroke at her home in California.
The
estate of Lauren’s first husband Humphrey Bogart confirmed the news
with the tweet: ‘With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her
amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall.’
The estate's co-managing partner Robbert de Klerk said in a statement: 'Ms. Bacall passed away peacefully at her home in New York City earlier today.'
He
received the news from Lauren's eldest child, son Stephen Bogart, 65.
She also has daughter Leslie, 61, with Humphrey and son Sam, 52, with
second husband Jason Robards, Jr.
