They
are far from your average family and a movie premiere red carpet is far
from your average location for a family portrait, but for the
Brangelina clan it all made sense.
Almost
all the Jolie-Pitt children were on hand on Wednesday night to support
their mother Angelina Jolie for the Hollywood premiere of her new film
Maleficent.
But, there was very noticeable absentee - little Vivienne.
Picture perfect: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
were joined by their children (L-R) Pax, Zahara, Knox, Shiloh and Maddox
at the the premiere of Disney's Maleficent in Hollywood
The five-year-old makes her acting debut in the Disney film opposite her mother, as a young Princess Aurora.
However,
while her twin brother Knox, along with Maddox, 12; Pax, 10; Zahara,
nine; and Shiloh, eight; joined their mother and father Brad Pitt, the
little actress skipped her red carpet moment.
Sadly, it meant she also missed her chance to join her siblings and her parents in their rare family portrait.
First role: There was very noticeable absentee,
little Vivienne, who made her acting debut in the Disney film opposite
her mother, as a young Princess Aurora
Mommy's biggest fans: The glamorous star of the film looked very proud to share the red carpet moment with her family
For the
premiere, Knox, Maddox, Pax and Shiloh all donned suits while Zahara
went for a more casual look with the little girl wearing black pants
with gold sneakers and a basketball top.
Getting into the spirit of the magical film, Zahara had stars painted on her face and arms.
Her 38-year-old mother meanwhile embraced her character's dark side wearing a spectacular fashion re-imagining of a Gothic gown.
The leather Versace creation was strapless and featured a voluminous train that cascaded from its side.
Their own style: For the premiere, Knox, Maddox
(pictured), Pax and Shiloh all donned suits while nine-year-old Zahara
went for a more casual look wearing black pants with gold sneakers and a
basketball top
Speaking
of working with her daughter this week, the Salt star revealed despite
having two actors as parents, Vivienne did not exactly jump right into
the role.
Angelina told ABC: 'The first day was the day she had to catch the butterfly, and she just really didn’t feel like doing it.
'I
actually was holding the pole with the ball on the end and bouncing up
and down and dancing, trying to make her laugh, and daddy was on the
edge of the cliff she had to jump off, making faces and all her brothers
and sisters were egging her on.
One with Maleficent: The 38-year-old actress
embraced her character's dark side wearing a spectacular fashion
re-imagining of a Gothic gown
'She eventually did it but she was taking her sweet time and not wanting to do it twice, certainly.'
But the pair did make rehearsals fun, often practicing at home.
'When
we did it together, we had a good time, we played together. I was
actually shocked that she was doing so well. She went back and hit her
mark. It’s frightening.'
While Vivienne has a quite an important role, her siblings Zahara and Pax also got to have small walk-on parts in the film.
All grown up: Maddox is now 12 and looked very dapper in his suit
Making an entrance: Angelina strikes a pose for the paparazzi
Drama queen: The dress boasted a theatrical train that Maleficent would be proud of
All eyes on her: Photographers scrambled to get photos of the gorgeous actress
Under her spell: It's unsurprising that Brad looked completely enamoured with Angelina
Gorgeous at every angle: Angelina twirled so as to show off all the sides of her stunning dress
Beautiful: Angelina blew kisses for the huge crowd that had gathered in the hope of meeting their idol
Greeting their subjects: The King and Queen of Tinseltown waved to everyone on Hollywood Boulevard
Adding to the effect: Angelina wore spiked gold cuffs on her wrists, smoky eye make-up and black nail polish
The perfect match: Brad complemented Angelina in all-black, wearing a suit and shirt with no tie
Final touches: While Angelina completed her look with smoky eye make-up and a sleek ponytail, Brad wore amber aviator sunglasses
Well, look at you!: Angelina may have been
dressed as an evil fairy but she was very sweet with some girls dressed
as miniature Maleficents
Delighted: The star had a huge smile on her face as she posed with the adorable little girls
Pleased to meet you: Angelina spent a long time chatting to one youngster who was in a wheelchair
She's always got time for her fans: The mother-of-six hugged each of the children in turn
Making friends: Angelina posed with a Maleficent character, as well as a male guest wearing horns
Angelina
has previously said that she and her 50-year-old fiance did not get the
little girl invloved because they want her to be an actress - it was
because no other child would go near Angelina when she was in full
costume, which includes horns and facial prosthesis to make her more
angular.
'We think it’s fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors,' she told EW.
'That's not our goal, for Brad and I, at all. But the other three and four-year-old [performers] wouldn’t come near me.
'It had to be a child that liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.'
Let's get together: (L-R) Juno Temple, Lesley Manville, Angelina, Sharlto Copley, Elle and Sam Riley posed on the red carpet
