'I spent New Year's Eve all alone,' reveals Kylie Minogue

But Kylie Minogue chose to spend New Year's Eve at home all alone.
The 45-year-old songstress revealed her alternative choice for the biggest night of the year during an interview with The Sunday Times, telling them she wanted a quiet night in.

Of her 2014 pop star said: 'I was just very quietly excited about midnight arriving, I was sitting there thinking. It was bordering on the existential!
'But there was something so great about being on my own for the stroke of midnight.'
It was in stark contrast to her celebrations a year earlier, where she rang in 2013 by performing to millions at Sydney Harbour.
Last year proved both difficult and dramatic for the star in many ways.

Her beloved grandmother died, she split from her manager of 25 years Terry Blamey to sign with Jay Z's Roc Nation, and also ending her five year relationship with Spanish model Andrés Velencoso.
She recently said that she uses work to ease her heartbreak: 'I go through the sadness, then I snap out of it. I have a million things going on, and that makes it easier. In the solitude, there’s the silence and then you can hear them, all the voices in your head, but that’s cool.'
The pint-sized popstar has certainly been keeping busy since the split and recently finished recording a new album Into The Blue in LA, as well as debuting as a new coach on the UK's The Voice, and filming for the Australian version of the show.

Her new single will be released on March 9, with her new album Kiss Me Once set to hit stores shortly after on March 17, it's her first studio album since 2010's Aphrodite.
The sexy video for Into The Blue sees the gorgeous babe donning a series of raunchy Yves Saint Laurent outfits, including a gold lamé dress, as she cavorts in stockings and corsets with French actor Clement Sibony.
The star has also been sexing it up on stage, she spent Valentine's Day wearing an ultra tight PVC black pencil skirt complete with twangable braces, racy, red stilettos and a tight, white shirt, performing for Colette French Kiss Love music night.
Her love life has recently been under the microscope in the recent TV adaptation INXS: Never Tear Us Apart, in which Samantha Jade took on the role of the star during her time dating the ill-fated Michael Hutchence.
