What happened to Boris Becker? Legendary Wimbledon champion looks puffy and red-faced at theatre première with wife

He was once a lean Wimbledon champion and the face of German sports success, but Boris Becker cut a very different figure as he socialised with his wife on Thursday.
The 46 year-old star was seen looking round-faced at The Phantom of the Opera musical premiere in Hamburg, Germany.
The look, which surprised many of his fans, has sparked concerns over his bloated appearance.

The triple All-England tournament winner was a special guest at the musical premiere, which he attended with his wife Lily, at the Stage Theatre Neue Flora.
Sporting a drastic, flat-top hair-cut with shaved back and sides, the sports commentator was visibly red-faced against his white shirt and black, pinstriped suit.
Meanwhile, his unflattering 'goatie' beard forced his cheeks to appear wider and suggested he has gained considerable weight in the past year.
Stood next to his wife, the contrast was particularly striking.

Just one year earlier, Boris looked much fitter and had a brighter, healthier complexion when he attended the A Heart for Children Charity Gala in Berlin, Germany.
Wearing the same pinstriped suit, he looked noticeably thinner and fitter - not least because he sported a softer haircut.
Perhaps the weight gain has something to do with the fact that Boris now spends more time doing sport punditry, rather than playing professionally.
He is a regular guest expert on the BBC and Sky Sports.

Becker, who commentated at Wimbledon this year, is now married to Dutch model Sharlely Lilly Kerssenberg and they have a three-year-old son named Amadeus Benedict Edley Luis Becker.
Former Wimbledon star Boris has two other sons, Noah Gabriel, 19, and Elias Balthasar, 13, from a previous marriage to Barbara Feltus.

He also has a daughter, Anna, who he fathered with Russian model Angela Ermakova in London in 1999 after a night out drinking.

He initially denied paternity of Anna but following a DNA test he now has joint custody of the teenager.
