Sure it has no lines and is not even living thing, but the clapped out van decorated to look like an oversize dog - complete with ears, a nose and fake fur - is one of the most recognisable 'stars' from the 1994 classic.
On Monday, the furry vehicle was back centre stage in Atalanta, Georgia, as human star Jim Carrey filmed scenes for Dumb And Dumber To.
Together again: Jim Carrey filmed scenes with
the instantly recogisable Mutt Cutts van on the set of Dumb And Dumber
in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday
While the van has been spotted briefly on the set before, Monday film centred around the shaggy dog grooming van and Jim's character, Lloyd Christmas.
The 51-year-old actor looked as though he felt like his character was completed by the Mutt Cutts' presence, smiling as he jumped out of the van.
However, it seems tragedy may strike in the new sequel, with crew members switching on a smoke machine to make the Mutt Cutts van appear as thought it is on fire.
Big star: While technically it is the
51-year-old actor's film, the clapped out van decorated to look like an
oversize dog - complete with ears, a nose and fake fur - is a fan
favourite from the 1994 classic
Back in uniform: Jim was dressed in Lloyd's
distinctive dorky attire of matching grey green khakis and jacket with a
pink T-shirt and sneakers
However, no doubt as such a seminal icon of the film, the Mutt Cutts van will live to ride another day.
For the day of filming Jim was dressed in Lloyd's distinctive dorky attire.
The Ace Ventura Pet Detective star was dressed in matching grey green khakis and jacket with a pink T-shirt and sneakers, and, the star also sported his character's far from flattering bowl hair cut.
Oh no! Tragedy may strike in the new sequel,
with crew members switching on a smoke machine to make the Mutt Cutts
van appear as thought it is on fire
Nice chop: The 51-year-old was also sporting his character's unflattering bowl cut hair style
On Tuesday, Universal Pictures announced fans of the slapstick comedy have almost another full year to wait until they see Jim and Jeff Daniels bring Lloyd and Harry Dunne back to the screen.
The belly laughing and snorting will begin November 14 next year - just a month short of 20 years since the movie was last in theaters.
Also set to star in the comedy is Rob Riggle, Rachel Melvin, Laurie Holden and Steven Tom with reports that Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence may also make an appearance.
A bit of a wait: The film is not being released
until November 2014 - almost 20 years since the original hit theatres.
The film will see Jim also reunited with Jeff Daniels, seen here in the
1994 movie
