Life NOT imitating art: Eternal bachelorette Cameron Diaz plays doting mother in new Hollywood film project

She has a hugely successful career, but - like many women - she's had to make choices about motherhood along the way.
So it's interesting to see Hollywood actress Cameran Diaz play a maternal figure in forthcoming black comedy Sex Tape.
Directed by Jake Kasdan, who directed Diaz in Bad Teacher, the film tells the tale of a married couple who wake up to discover that a sex tape they made has gone missing, leading to a frantic search for its whereabouts.

It also stars Jack Black and Robe Lowe, who was the victim of his very own sex scandal back in 1988.

In the scenes, which were filmed in Los Angeles, Cameron can be seen running from the 'family' car with her on-screen husband Jason Siegel and two children - a boy and a girl.
Wearing a crew-neck jumper with jeans and flat shoes, plus bed-head hair and little make-up, the glamorous performer looks decidedly average as she portrays the run-of-the-mill matriarch.

The star looked at ease as she played the role - despite having little experience of being with children

Like a true mother figure, she can be seen laughing and joking with the child actors, Giselle Eisenberg and Sebastian Edges Thomas, while simultaneously looking after them.
But this isn't the first time she has played a mother - she starred alongside Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock, Chace Crawford, and Dennis Quaid for the hit comedy What To Expect When You're Expecting.
Speaking at the time, Cameron spoke publicly of her own experience of wanting children.
'Society definitely puts pressure on women to make them think their lives should go a certain way,' she told InStyle magazine. 'I’ve never said I don’t want children... I just haven’t had children yet. I don’t know what’s going to happen in my life.'

The Mask star, who has had a string of failed relationships and never married, says she still believes in love despite alluding that in perhaps one or more of her relationships she has had her heart broken.
'I would rather have my heart broken a thousand times than never to love at all,' she said. 'I have so much love to give—I’m not empty of love, I’m full of love.'

Sex Tape will be released in 2014.
