The Australian will join returning stars will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones in the third series with a fourth coach yet to be announced.
She said: 'I'm very excited to become a coach on The Voice. I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series.
Signed! Kylie Minogue has signed up as a coach
on the next series of The Voice, alongside returning stars will.i.am and
Sir Tom Jones
Confirmed! As soon as it was announced Kylie showed off her excitement on Twitter
'The search for new talent is such an important aspect of the music industry and The
Voice gives us all a part to play in that. Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!'
The Can't Get You Out of My Head hitmaker will join the third series of BBC One's flagship singing competition in 2014, while will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones have been confirmed to return to the show.
The Australian star's appointment to the panel follows the departures of singer Jessie J and The Script frontman Danny O'Donoghue, who both quit the show after two series earlier this year.
A fourth coach will be announced "in due course", according to the BBC.
Happy news: Kylie will make her debut on the show, while Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am will return for their third series
Returning coaches will.i.am and Tom welcomed their new colleague, with the Scream & Shout hitmaker saying: 'While I will miss Danny and Jessie, I'm excited to be returning for season three and to work with Kylie and Tom. Together we will mix it up and bring new energy and ideas to the show.'
Tom added: 'I'm really looking forward to series three of The Voice and although I'll miss Jessie and Danny, Kylie and the fourth coach will be a welcome addition to the line-up.'
The Voice will also undergo a schedule shake-up for its third series, launching in January 2014, three months earlier than the previous series' April premieres.
As they were: Jessie J and The Script's Danny
O'Donoghue announced they were leaving the show earlier this year - one
more coach is yet to be revealed for the new line-up
Mark Linsey, Controller Entertainment Commissioning, BBC, added: 'Kylie is a hugely respected figure within the world of music and will be a fantastic addition to The Voice UK.
'She is a true pop icon and her longevity in the industry is testament to her creative and musical ability.'
Moira Ross, Head of Entertainment for Wall to Wall, said: 'In terms of pop royalty, it really doesn’t get much better than Kylie. With more than two decades of global success under her belt, I know she’ll bring something truly special to the coaching line-up.'
Returning: Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones have both confirmed they will return for their third series in 2014
While Kylie is excited about the new role, some fans may see it as her jumping on her sister Dannii MInogue's territory.
Dannii has forged a career out of being a TV judge on singing contests over the last few years, starting off on The X Factor in Britain, The Voice's rival, and currently working on Australia's The X Factor.
