Oprah confesses she threatened to cancel Lindsay Lohan's show because there was too much 'chaos' around the struggling starlet

The lovefest between Lindsay Lohan and Oprah Winfrey almost reached a screeching halt earlier this year.
The talk show queen confesses to Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson that she had to confront the rehabbed starlet face to face to make sure she was serious about doing a show on her network OWN.
'There was a lot of chaos going on,' Oprah explains in an interview set to air Tuesday.

'So I went to have a conversation, a real conversation about that, to say to her, "Do you want to do it? Because if you don’t want to do it, that’s OK. We could just end it. We don’t have to do it,"' the TV personality continued.
Lindsay's OWN show is scheduled to debut on next year.
After the network chief put the tough question to the troubled star, she stepped up to the plate. 'She said she wants to do it,' said Oprah. 'So let’s get to it. So I had that conversation.'

The serious talk happened at The Parent Trap actress' own home.
'I went to her house just to say, ‘What are you doing? Let’s get real here,"' Oprah, 59, continues.
'And… ‘This is what’s conflicting about it.’ Because it’s television and we stand to gain if it does well. But the real truth is – and anybody who knows me, certainly my producers on the way there – Sheri Salata was in the car – I said, ‘If I get here and Lindsay isn’t serious, I will shut this thing down today.’”
Lindsay, 27, who left rehab in July, has already had a sit down interview with the legend. In August she sat across from the journalist, and admitted she had an Adderall and alcohol addiction.
Another subject the former daytime diva touched on was the near mental meltdown she experienced in the fall of 2012.
Oprah admitted that running her struggling OWN network, which launched in 2011 to poor ratings, while acting in Lee Daniels’ The Butler was overwhelming

When she interviewed Kony 2012 activist Jason Russell, who had a much talked about public breakdown, it hit Oprah she was experiencing some of the trauma that he had.
'I was sitting and listening to Jason Russell describe his symptoms…. Saying, ‘Um, this sounds pretty familiar to me,’” she says.
The Color Purple star went on to describe in detail what she was going through.
'In the beginning, it was just sort of speeding and a kind of numbness and going from one thing to the next thing to the next thing,' she admits.
'I will tell you when I realized that I thought, "All right, if I don’t calm down I’m gonna be in serious trouble."
'I was in the middle of doing voiceovers, you know? And I remember closing my eyes in between each page because looking at the page and the words at the same time was too much stimulation for my brain.'
When she interviewed Fergie in October that's when she realized she needed to slow down.
'I mean, I wasn’t ready to go run naked in the streets. Let’s make that very clear,' she said, making a reference to what happened with Jason.
'But I had reached a point where I just couldn’t take in anymore stimulation. OK? That’s what I meant by that.”

The Emmy winner also talked about her longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham, 62.
When asked if she was OK with never being a 'married woman,' she shot back, 'That’s really OK with me. That’s really OK because Stedman would tell you this, Shaun, if you ever interviewed him, he would tell you that had we married, we would not be together today.'
'He’s a traditional man, and this is a very un-traditional relationship,' she continued.
She adds that if she had the title of wife, 'there would be other expectations.'
The OWN head also let slip that she filmed a sex scene with Terrence Howard for The Butler.
'Well it was not sex,' she says.
'And the reason it was not sex [was] because I would not let Lee take me there. It was completely out of character, and I thought that Lee was pushing the Oprah envelope.'
The scene has been cut.
'Y’all are not gonna see it,' promises the actress. 'Not for this character.”
The interview airs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well on Access Hollywood.
