Kim Kardashian skips 'party of the year' to take baby North to Kanye West's grandad's funeral
Kim introduces her daughter to Kanye's family
Kim Kardashian took baby North West on her first trip over the weekend.
Kim, North and Kanye West attended the funeral of Kanye's grandfather Portwood Williams Snr, who passed away on 10 August aged 98.
The couple flew to Oklahoma to pay their respects and introduced their young daughter, who was born on 15 June, to Kanye's relatives.
‘They brought North to meet some of the family members,' an insider tells Life & Style.
Portwood was very close to Kanye, 36, and just a few months before his death he spoke of his joy at meeting Kim, 32, when she was pregnant.
‘She's beautiful and just as sweet as she is beautiful - and that's what I like,' the proud grandad told The Sun in March.
‘She was down to earth, she's rich and those kind of people have got everything.
‘Kanye never calls me and tells me he's coming, he just turns up. They stayed here, talking to me. They stayed about four or five hours. We had a lot of fun laughing and talking.'
Kim skipped the 16th birthday party of younger sister Kylie Jenner so that she could attend the funeral but admitted in her blog that the bash looked like fun.
‘I heard Kylie's sweet 16 was the party of the year! Sadly, Kanye and I couldn't attend as we were in Oklahoma for his grandfather's funeral,' Kim wrote yesterday.
‘I got phone calls about it afterwards and saw all of the videos on Keek and photos on Instagram. It looked like so much fun! Xo'
