Legends of the Ball: David Beckham takes his sons to meet Brazilian greats Pele and Kaka at the World Cup final match in Rio

He's most definitely a football legend himself, so there was plenty of excitement when former England international David Beckham was photographed together with former Brazilian international players Pele and Kaka in Rio prior to the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina.
The three footballers hugged each other and were more than happy to pose for photos as fans made the most of this truly once in a lifetime sporting moment.
David brought with him his three sons to the game as well - with all three clearly showing who they barracked for. Romeo and Brooklyn wore Argentina's sporting colours, while fashion-forward Cruz went with a dark blue version instead.

David and his three boys were at the Maracana to take in the World Cup final on Sunday night. It was also, importantly, the first World Cup that David and his three boys had watched together.
There was no doubting which side they were supporting clearly.
Their choice of attire may not have gone down too well, however, with Pele and Kaka, with whom Beckham posed for photographs prior to kick-off.

David was famously sent off for England against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup, but that didn't appear to stop his sons pledging allegiance to the South American side
David and Pele embraced and chatted while excited fans took pictures on their phones.
The former England captain was a team-mate of Kaka during the first of his loan spells at Milan in 2009.

David was sent off against Argentina when playing for England in the last-16 of the 1998 World Cup, but judging by his sons' choice of shirt, time has proved a great healer.
The Beckhams were in Rio de Janeiro to take in one of the most eagerly anticipated World Cup finals in decades, the culmination of a tournament in Brazil that has delivered goals and entertainment at every turn.
Argentina, who have been followed to Rio by hundreds of thousands of fans for the occasion, were bidding to win their third World Cup title, while Germany were hoping to make it four.

Among others spotted for the big World Cup showdown was American football star Tom Brady, who was getting cosy with his Brazilian supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter was chatting to former Barcelona star Carles Puyol and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Clearly this was the game that the entire world loves.

It started with plenty of colour - as expected of Brazil - as Samba music and dancers took over the Maracana pitch, before the Brazuca ball was brought out as a centre-piece.
Two freestylers, one dressed in a Germany kit and the other in an Argentina strip, took to the stage to show off their skills for the crowd.
Shakira's 'La La La (Brazil 2014)' song was performed alongside Brazilian percussionist and singer Carlinhos Brown.
