Perfect timing! Angelina Jolie releases trailer for new directorial effort Unbroken as she wows in stylish suit at BAFTAs

She stole all the headlines on Sunday night as she emerged at the BAFTAs in London looking sleek and stylish in a black suit with white shirt and undone bow tie.
And while she grabbed headlines for her flawless fashion sense,  Angelina Jolie also released the first trailer for her second directorial effort Unbroken.
Despite the 38-year-old actress not appearing in the film - about the remarkable life of Olympic athlete-turned prisoner of war Louis Zamperini - she is twice mentioned and seen in the three minute trailer.

One shot shows the star with headphones on, watching back footage of her new movie, while another still shows her posing with her eyes closed and head on Zamperini's shoulder.
The motion picture, set for release in December, is based on a novel by Laura Hillenbrand that narrates the true life story of the World War II hero.
Skins actor Jack O'Connell stars in the lead role as the American Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by the Japanese army during the war after surviving 47 days in the open water of the Pacific Ocean when his plane crashed into the sea.
The movie also stars Garrett Hedlund and About Time actor Domhnall Gleeson.
The trailer begins in a documentary style, with interviews with the now 97-year-old ex Olympian, interspersed with footage from the film covering his early days on the running track and lighting an Olympic torch.
'The will to push through any obstacle. The drive to never give in to defeat. These are the virtues that define the Olympic spirit,' says a voiceover.  'Epitomised by the story of former Olympian and American hero Louis Zamperini.
Zamperini reveals he became a runner after spending his childhood getting in trouble with the law.
'As a kid, I was always in trouble,' he says in the on-camera interview. 'I was rotten. They started talking about what to do with me'
Amid flashbacks of a small boy being hauled to his home by a policeman, Zamperini reveals it was a law enforcement officer's idea to suggest he turn his excess energy to athletics.
'The police chief said: 'We've been chasing him all over town for years. I suggest running.'

'As a complete unknown Zamporini burst onto the world stage at the Olympics in 1936,' the narrator continues. 'The unwavering spirit that got him there led to a record breaking experience and carried him forward to a time when the world was at war and his country needed him most.'
He joined the United States Air Force but in 1942, disaster struck and his plane crushed into the Pacific Ocean and  Zamperini survived in the open water for 47 days.
Things went from bad to worse when the Olympic hero was then captured by the Japanese and taken to a Tokyko prisoner-of-war camp.

Jolie shot the film in Australia from a screenplay from Joel and Ethan Cohen in what proved a difficult shoot due to the war and water scenes.
'On set, we started to joke and say, "Tomorrow will be easier," knowing full well that on this challenging shoot, there are no easy days,” she told Entertainment Weekly via email.
'Anytime it gets tough, we think of the real men who lived through this, and no one complains. In fact, we all just feel honoured to be here.'
