For weeks Marvel fans
have been speculating and hoping that Elizabeth Olsen would bring the
character of the Scarlet Witch alive in the next Avengers movie.
And now Samuel L. Jackson has let the cat out of the bag.
The acting great revealed that Elizabeth Olsen will be in fact starring in the next installment of the superhero franchise.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal Samuel - who plays Nick Furry in the film series - let his newest cast member slip, but stopped short of confirming her role.
The
64-year-old revealed that in Avengers: Age Of Ultron there will be two
new actors joining the fold when talking about his cameo in new
television show Marvel's Agents Of The S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Pulp Fiction star told the newspaper: 'I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year.
New role: Elizabeth, seen here on Jimmy Fallon
on Monday, has been rumoured to play Scarlet Witch which now seems to be
true after her co-stars gaff
'I know we’re shooting in
London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and
that we added Ms. Olsen, but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on
the inside or the outside.
'I haven’t seen a script.'
As
the young Liberal Arts star has been long rumoured to play the role, it
is unlikely she has been cast as any other character besides the
Scarlet Witch.
The Marvel
character is actually more of two for one role, as she is a twin and has
a brother Pietro, whose superhero name is Quicksilver.
Like magic: The Scarlet Witch - who also goes by the less scary name of Wanda Maximoff - has the power to manipulate probability
Saucy style: Elizabeth better get ready for some
sexy costuming, as the fictional character often lands herself on the
sexiest women in comics list

The role will be a big change for the young actress who has become a bit of an indie movie darling.
In
her latest film, Kill Your Darlings, she plays Edie Parker, a writer
and the first wife of Beat Generation great Jack Kerouac.
The
biographical piece looks at the young Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, played
by Daniel Radcliffe, as he finds his own voice but also deals with a
grisly murder.
Off the big screen Elizabeth is also finding success in a Broadway production of Romeo And Juliet.
Preview performances started on Friday, but already the show has been extended to match demand for the Shakespearean classic.
