It was a veritable goal fest at the
Bernabeu on Wednesday evening as Real Madrid romped to a comfortable 4-0
win over FC Copenhagen – and Cristiano Ronaldo was amongst the scorers.
But while the moisturized
midfielder celebrated his two headed goals with teammates, Russian
girlfriend Irina Shayk idly sent text messages from her vantage point
high in the stands, apparently oblivious to her boyfriend’s heroics.
The
27-year-old model was dressed casually in an orange sweater and white
skirt while she slumped in a private box, generally alternating her
attention between the pitch and her phone for the duration of the match.

Irina started dating
Cristiano in 2010 after they met during a photo-shoot for Armani
Exchange, but their meetings were periodic at best due to the
footballer’s rigorous
training schedule with Real Madrid during a
pre-season trip to Los Angeles.
While his global renown as one of the sport’s fin
est midfielders overshadows the catwalk
career of his girlfriend, the sultry model will gain further recognition
when she makes her acting debut next year.
Irina
is set to play Megaro, the wife of Hercules in forthcoming fantasy epic
Hercules: The Thracian Wars, with towering star Dwayne Johnson playing
the titular lead.

The film – directed by Brett Ratner – will also star Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes and John Hurt.
Meanwhile
Ronaldo is enjoying a fruitful start to the season with his team,
having scored five times in his last two Champions League games.
The
game against Copenhagen also presented something of a landmark for the
Portuguese star as it was his 100th game in the competition.
Passing the time: Irina casts her eyes towards the pitch during Real Madrid's 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen on Wednesday night
Cristiano developed a
name for himself after signing for Manchester United in 2003 replacing
the departed David Beckham on the right side of midfield.
But
while his time at the club yielded Premier League and Chamions League
medals, it could have been very different had he signed for bitter
rivals Arsenal.
Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger said: "He was very close to coming here. He has a
number nine shirt with Ronaldo on the back from Arsenal Football Club.
‘What
happened was that Carlos Queiroz went to Manchester United and they
snapped him away from us because he knew him from Sporting (Lisbon, his
former club).
‘That's what
life is about. You give your best but sometimes you might find that
people are stronger than you. That can happen as well.’
