At the age of 52, there is no doubt that Julianne Moore looks amazing for her age.

'I try to do Ashtanga yoga two to three times a week. I’ve also started working out with a trainer, doing light weights and a lot of jumping around,' she explains.

'The main problem is I can’t do anything six days straight because I get hurt.
'That’s the thing about old age—eventually your hip starts to hurt and you have to switch to do something else.'

The red-headed beauty says she also likes to indulge in a spot of paddleboarding from time-to-time.
'I paddleboard. But it’s not the kind of exercise people say it is. I think you have to really paddle hard. But if you’re just gliding along like I am, then no!' she explains.

Julianne tells the magazine that she regularly relies on alternative medicine to cure a number of ailments.
The mother-of-two undergoes acupuncture for back pain, and the form of traditional Chinese medicine also helped her get through the loss of her mother Anne, who died in 2009 at the age of 68.
'I also had a period after my mother died where I couldn’t sleep. I mean, I was just in shock for the longest time and didn’t sleep for, like, a year,' she says.
'I was just a wreck. And I had some really intense acupuncture treatments, and it kind of reset my nervous system. So I think it’s very helpful.'
Unlike other celebrities, such as Gwyneth Paltrow, who once admitted that she avoids giving her children Moses and Apple carbohydrates, Julianne allows her children, son Caleb, 15, and daughter, Liv, 11, whom she shares with husband husband Bart Freundlich, to indulge from time-to-time.
'[They] are pretty good eaters. They eat a lot of fruit—fruit’s easy—and certain vegetables,' she explains.
'But my kids have always been allowed to have dessert.
'My husband thinks I’m too free and easy about that kind of stuff, but my kids will throw out a half-eaten ice cream cone if they’ve had enough, which I’ve never in my life been able to do.'
Julianne is currently starring in the remake of horror movie classic Carrie, playing the role of Chloe Moretz's pious, emotionally abusive mother.

The Crazy Stupid Love actress said in a recent interview that she has never had a problem getting good roles despite her age.
'I can’t complain. I’ve been pretty lucky,' she told Instyle, adding: 'And I think the more we talk about it, the more we make it real. I hate being asked this stuff! Let’s appreciate where we are. Let’s not wish our lives away.'
Most dread the concept of getting older, but Julianne defied this as she revealed that she makes a point of trying to balance traditional pressures with living in the present.
'I feel very much in the middle of my life,' she explained.
'Being in a relationship for 17 years, having kids who are not babies anymore, living in the house we want to live in, and really enjoying the work I do.'
Julianne has been married to Bart since 2003, after the pair met in 1996 when her directed her in The Myth Of Fingerprints.
