Indeed, former footballer David Beckham, 38, was spotted riding through the peaceful streets of Beverly Hills on Wednesday after taking to the road on his vintage 93 knuckle.
The lightweight bike was custom made for Becks, and he cut quite a sight on it during a trawl through West Hollywood, his sleeve tattoos on full display as he gripped the handles.

Beckham’s passion for motorcycles may well have stemmed from his close friendship with bike nut Tom Cruise, who purchased his first when he was just 10-years old.
The 51-year-old actor was spotted climbing off his Vyrus 987 C3 4V that evening after arriving at popular restaurant LA restaurant Lucas On Sunset for a bite to eat.
His Italian made bike – the most powerful production motorcycle in the world – is understood to be one of the most expensive on the market, retailing at around $103,769.

Cruise was certainly dressed in appropriate biking attire, with the scruffy leather jacket and chunky boots he frequently wears during his two-wheeled sojourns present and correct as he made his way inside.
Earlier this year the Oblivion star admitted that his love of motorcycles began at an early age.
'My first motorcycle was a little Yamaha,’ he told Jay Leno in April. ‘My (single) mother was away working for the weekend and I'd stored it in the basement.

Another famous bike enthusiast is Charlie Hunnam – the actor briefly known as Christian Grey.
The 33-year-old Brit was spotted burning rubber around LA on Wednesday, just days after he pulled out of a very prominent role in the big-screen adaptation of E.L James’ novel 50 Shades Of Grey.
Given the mild weather Charlie appeared to be overdressed in a thick jacket as he rode through the city on his black Harley Davidson, a rucksack slung across his back.

French flier: Olivier Martinez prepares to hit the road after a trip to department store Barney's in New York, also on Wednesday
The actor could have joined an unlikely motorcycling alliance with Beckham and Cruise had they taken to the road at the same time.
But while the threesome took to their bikes in LA, another famous face was taking to one of his own on the opposite side of the country.
French star Olivier Martinez was seen hopping onto the seat of his bike in New York City that evening after a trip to department store Barney’s.
The 47-year-old star’s appearance was all the more distinctive courtesy of his striking gold coloured crash helmet.
Martinez has previously been seen taking Oscar-winning wife Halle Berry for bike-rides during frequent outings close to their LA home.
