When the 32-year-old Cry Me A River singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday she presented him with a new home of a giant dog house.
The odd present, which was filmed for Monday's episode of the talk show, was motivated by his wife Jessica, 31, posting a photo on Instagram of her sat in a cage with their pet pit bull, Tina.
Behind bars: Justin Timberlake was put in the
doghouse by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres when they filmed an upcoming
episode on Friday
'I don't know how healthy your relationship is and I am just wondering what is happening,' asked a bemused Ellen.
Never without a smart reply, Justin quipped: 'I didn't want to have to tell her twice!'
The
Sexy Back star went on to explain the real origin of the cute pic, and
told Ellen, 'We obviously love our dogs very much and she does this
thing on her Twitter account called Tuesdays With Tina and it is always a
picture of Tina with that exact same face.
Pet picture: The unusual gift was prompted by wife Jessica Biel tweeting a photo of herself with their Pit Bull, Tina
Kidding around: 'I didn't want to have to tell her twice!' joked Justin
'That is literally what our dog
Tina looks like all the time,' he explained, showing the
brindle-coloured dog's sombre expression.
'So Tina is not happy?' asked the chat show host, but Justin retorted, 'No, that's her happy face!'
'She's
just a little slow, but we love her all the same,' he went on to
explain. 'That is pure bliss for that dog, that's what that looks like
for that dog.'
Ready for her close-up: Justin showed off Tina's always identical expression
Special gift: Ellen did a big build up before she presented her anniversary treat to Justin
Dog talk aside, DeGeneres got down to business as stage assistants wheeled out her huge wrapped gift.
'I
saw that, and thought that you have this anniversary coming up and I
want to make sure you had something to give to her that I think she will
enjoy more than that,' she said, preempting the presentation.
'It's what she should be in, not what you had her in!'
Dubious receiver: The Cry Me A River singer looked concerned about what Ellen was going to pull out of her sleeve
Heavy load: Stage assistants pulled out the giant box
When
the gift wrap was pulled off, a giant cage the size of some New York
City apartments was revealed, complete with a red sofa and backdrop,
sparkling light fixtures hanging from the top and a thick fluffy rug.
In one corner there was even a side table with a martini making kit - and of course, a porcelain dog statue!
'Perfect! This is a hell of a dog house!' gushed a genuinely excited Justin. 'I might smart off more often.'
Delight: 'Perfect! This is a hell of a dog house!' gushed Justin
Impressed: JT looked quite at home in the wire cage
True love: Timberlake is still smitten after a year of marriage, 'I have the best wife in the world'
Ellen seemed very proud of her
present, telling Timberlake: 'I think she and Tina will be very happy in
there. It’s like your own little green room.'
'I have no idea where this is going to go... I'm taking it home, it's coming home,' said the Grammy winner.
Earlier,
Justin - who recently completed his whirlwind summer tour with Jay Z -
complained about being sick and Ellen offered him tea with honey,
tequila or Hall's throat sweets. 'I'll feed it to you if you want me
to,' she even volunteered.
'I
get pretty cranky,' the bad patient admitted, but luckily he has Total
Recall star Biel at home to act as a sexy nursemaid. 'I have the best
wife in the world, she's been great this week.'
Tired traveler: Timberlake looked like his
sickness was getting the better of him when he left LAX unshaven and
sleepy later in a Memphis Grizzlies baseball cap on Friday night
