Despite
being locked in a bitter battle with her ex Gabriel Aubry, Halle Berry
is ensuring she keeps a smile on the face of their adorable daughter
Nahla.
The
Oscar-winning actress, 48, was spotted taking her six-year-old
offspring on a mini shopping spree at The Grove in West Hollywood,
California, on Wednesday.
And the pair made a beeline for popular American Girl store, where they picked up dolls for Nahla.
Girlie time: Halle Berry was spotted
shopping with her daughter Nahla at American Girl in West Hollywood,
California, on Wednesday
For
the excursion, Halle - also mother to one-year-old son Maceo with
husband Olivier Martinez - dressed down in a distressed black top with
cropped jeans and strappy flat sandals.
Wearing her hair in a curly bob, the screen beauty went make-up free as she toted one of the store's distinctive large red bags.
At
one point, she was seen pulling a funny face, as it appeared that
something was irritating her nose - much to the bemusement of Nahla, who
looked up at her in confusion.
Living dolls: The pair held hands as they emerged from the store with Nahla clutching a brand new doll
Halle
lovingly held onto the hand of her daughter, who carried a doll as she
walked beside her glamorous mother in a grey top, striped skirt and
white trainers.
Nahla's hair - which has become a major point of contention between Halle and Gabirel - was pulled back into a relaxed ponytail.
It
was claimed in court this week that French-Canadian Gabriel made
'completely and totally unacceptable' racial slurs against the actress -
and dyed their daughter's hair blonde.

Stepping out in style: The pair wore casual ensembles for their trip to the popular outdoor shopping mall
The
star took her former love to court, accusing him of straightening their
little girrl's naturally curly hair and lightening it over the past year
in a bid to deny her African-American heritage.
As
a result, Halle said in court documents, Aubry had caused Nahla
'potential psychological and physical damage' - and could cause her to
wonder 'why her natural appearance is not good enough'.
A
judge subsequently ruled that neither Halle nor Aubry can now change
Nahla's hair, while court records obtained by MailOnline claim that
Aubry has made shocking racist remarks against the star.
A
source close to Halle told MailOnline Gabriel had used racially abusive
language to Halle - claiming he called her the N word - but said:
'Halle is a great mom, she wants to keep Nahla on an even keel.'
Accusations: Halle's ex, Gabriel
Aubry, has been accused of straightening and lightening the colour of
their daughter's hair, in a bid to distance her from her
African-American heritage
