It’s
been three years to the day since the tragic passing of singer Amy
Winehouse after she died in her London home from accidental alcohol
poisoning in 2011.
But the Back To Black star’s legacy is still very much alive, and in a new interview with The Sun Amy’s loving father Mitch Winehouse has revealed he speaks to his talented daughter from beyond the grave.
London-based Mitch says he feels Amy’s presence everyday but especially when he’s performing.
Still connected: Mitch Winehouse says he can feel his late daughter Amy Winehouse's spirit from beyond the grave
‘She's
standing next to me, every time I go out on that stage. She's there all
right, I feel her, sense her,’ Mitch told The Sun.
Before adding: ‘She's in here now saying, “Just get on with it, Dad.” I'm always
speaking to her, all day, every day.’
Mitch
also believes Amy was initially upset with her untimely death at just
27 but the Valerie singer has come to terms with it and is settling into
the afterlife.

Although
he does admit life has obviously been difficult, Mitch has honoured
Amy’s memory by setting up the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which trains
recovering addicts to speak in schools and shed light on their
experiences and supports other charities.
‘Amy
loved children and through the Foundation, we will be supporting
charities that help young people, especially those in need by reason of
ill-health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction. I am now
donating all personal fees I receive for interviews and performances, to
the Foundation,’ he explained on his website.
Indeed,
since her death the taxi driver has run a tireless campaign raising
funds for his charity. In 2012 he penned a biography called Amy: My
Daughter and he has a new album titled But Beautiful, with money from
both proceeds going towards the foundation.
Remembering Amy: 'We will be visiting Amy and my
mum and then spending day with family and friends. Thank you for all of
your messages of love,' Mitch tweeted on Wednesday
While the anniversary of her death is never an easy day, Mitch thanked fans for their unwavering support.
‘I
don't have words to express my gratitude and love to you all. You never
allow us to go through this alone. Thank you. Mitch,’ he tweeted on
Wednesday.
