Idris Elba has become a father for the second time - to a little boy called Winston.
The
41-year-old actor posted a heart-warming picture of his baby holding
his finger, alongside the caption: 'My son Winston Elba was born
yesterday. Truly amazing :)'
Idris chose the name in honour of his late father Winston, who died last September following a battle with lung cancer.
Happy news: Idris Elba has announced that he has become a father for the second time
Winston is Idris' first child with make-up artist girlfriend Naiyana Garth, but he is also father to 11-year-old daughter Isan
with his ex-wife Dormowa Sherman.
As the pregnancy news broke last year, a source said at the time: 'Idris and Naiyana are so in love and this is the icing on the cake for them.
'They had been keeping it quiet as it's early in the pregnancy, but they've told family and friends and Naiyana is beginning to show.'
Idris and Naiyana only confirmed their relationship a few weeks before the news that they were to become parents broke.
The couple were both said to be 'feel lucky' to have found each other and were excited about meeting the new addition to their family.
The insider added: 'She is absolutely lovely and she's looking radiant. Her and Idris are a great couple and feel lucky to have found each other.
'Obviously Idris is a bit of a TV heartthrob so Naiyana is the envy of women across the country.
Growing brood: Idris is already father to 11-year-old Isan, seen here back in 2011
'But the truth is Idris is the one who really considers himself the lucky one. He's a great dad and she'll be a brilliant mum. They can't wait for their new arrival.'
Idris previously revealed that Isan remains entirely unimpressed with his career choice and the fame that comes with it.
He said: 'She’s a nerd really, which I couldn’t be more grateful for. She’s not much impressed by what I do, but she does see how people react to me in the streets.
'She’s very careful about it, wanting to steer me away from crowded streets and the like. I hate that she’s losing some of her innocence, but I’m impressed by her level of awareness.'
