So who IS the prettiest in pink? Penelope Cruz, Camila Alves and Jada Pinkett Smith go girly for the Oscars

Oscar winner Penelope Cruz, Matthew McConaughey's wife Camila Alves and Jade Pinkett Smith  went for similar gowns for the Oscars on Sunday night, and only one could be crowned the prettiest in pink.
Sadly for Penelope, 39, it wasn't her as her Giambattista Valli Haute Couture silk gown, accented with a stark black ribbon at the waist, was not a winning look.
Both Jada, 42, who showed some leg with a mid-thigh slit and Camila, 32, opting for more of a structured look with shoulder pads. coming ahead of her in the fashion stakes.

With its toga-esque fit and excess of fabric - especially at the back, where it draped around her in pleated layers - Cruz's ensemble resembled something of a bed sheet
and failed to accentuate her womanly curves.
The Spanish beauty had part of her long dress wrapped around her right wrist and exposed her bare right shoulder.
The mother of three had her brunette hair up in a high bun and displayed her natural beauty in a minimal amount of make-up.
The 2008 Oscar winner for her role Vicky Cristina Barcelona accessorised with a pair of dangling earrings and a diamond bracelet.

Camila revealed her modelling background in her long-sleeved pink gown that featured a long trail.
The Brazilian beauty had her brunette locks up and opted for just a hint of make-up including pink lipstick.
She posed with her 44-year-old actor husband who looked typically dapper in a white tuxedo jacket with black vest and black bow tie.

Looking well-rested despite all the hoopla, Matthew recently admitted that taking a break from Hollywood was life-changing.
The hunky star - who has children Levi, five, Vida, four, and one-year-old Livingston with his wife Camila Alves - stepped away from acting for two years in 2009 so he could focus on fatherhood, and he believes the time away was good for his career.

McConaughey - who has won a slew of awards and received an Oscar nomination for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club - explained: 'I just needed to let time catch up with me.'

Time has been unable to catch up with Jada who belied her age in a figure-hugging pink dress that displayed her curvy figure and toned arms.
The mother of Willow and Jaden also revealed some leg thanks to a mid-thigh slit on her long gown.
Will joined his wife on the carpet and skipped the bow tie as he wore a black tuxedo with an open collared white dress shirt.
