Proud to be a Colombian! Shakira's son Milan gets his passport on charity trip to open school in her home country

With a Colombian mother and a Spanish father Milan Piqué Mebarak was always going to be a jetsetter.
And now the one-year-old son of Shakira and 27-year-old footballer Gerard Pique has even more cause to do so after picking up his Colombian passport during a charity trip to the country with his mother.
While the couple got Milan's Spanish passport last year, Shakira used hers and Milan's visit to her native country on Monday to also obtain her son's passport.

And she couldn't wait to show her countrymen and women that Milan has officially joined them, holding up his passport for all to see.
Her gesture came as she took her son with her to open the eighth school funded by her non profit foundation, Pies Descalzos (Bare Feet).
But Milan wasn't too happy to have it taken out of his hands, making a grab for it as his mother held it aloft.

The dark-haired youngster was dressed all in white and appeared to be having fun with his 37-year-old mother in her native country.
She was casually dressed in jeans and a white shirt, with her blonde hair pulled casually back from her face.

Shakira told Billboard that the school will help 1,700 poor children in the neighborhood of Lomas del Peyé in Cartagena.
'This is part of my advocacy: Promote access to universal education," Shakira told Billboard.
'I want to demonstrate through the Pies Descalzos model how we can change the lives, not only of the children who come to school, but also their families.

'Entire communities can be transformed when you have a school that functions properly.
'I'm so happy to see so many joyful faces in these students. They'll have the tools necessary to become good citizens, far from violence and drugs. We dream of the day in which there will be no child without an education in Colombia.'
During her time in Colombia, Shakira also spent time with some of the children from the school.
