For Ellen DeGeneres, money was no object when she laid eyes on the lavish estate known in Los Angeles' Holmby Hills area as The Brody House.
The 55-year-old talk show host and wife Portia de Rossi soon snapped up the mansion for a whopping $39.888 million.
The 13,511-square-foot mid-century dwelling was designed by famed architect A. Quincy Jones and is considered THE masterpiece of modern sophistication and glamour.

Extensive remodelling can be seen in the smooth walled interiors, spotless wood and marble floors and lushly landscaped grounds.
Ellen and Portia will have no trouble attracting party guests with this glass-walled home that features six bedrooms and nine baths, and counts Playboy founder Hugh Hefner among its high-profile neighbours.
The living room amazes with it's clean design, polished espresso-stained floor, stunning fireplace and atmosphere lighting.
