So Lea Michele was no doubt relieved to have the opportunity to sneak back to her home city of New York over the weekend, where she managed to snag a fun day out with friends on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old talented triple-threat could not hide her joy as she playfully embraced old pals during a fun day out in SoHo, where she assembled an elegant look that looked to have been inspired by Audrey Hepburn.

Dark blue skinny jeans showed off Lea's slim pins, whilst the rest of her ensemble was a stylish all-black mish-mash of leather and faux fur.
The actress and singer added inches to her petite frame with sizeable black suede ankle booties and made sure no wind was slipping through the cracks with a snug turtleneck sweater.

What's so funny? The Glee star and her friend looked to be giggling about something in her phone
A classy knotted up-do and well manicured bangs completed the starlet's Audrey Hepburn inspired look for the day as she braved the chilly winds of New York City.
The pretty singer broke into a delighted grin as she surveyed something on her girlfriend's mobile phone, before hurling herself happily into the arms of a male friend for a giant bear hug.

Her first single, Cannonball, is set to be released on December 10 and it looks as though a part of her trip to the Big Apple was spent promoting the brand new track and music video.
So Lea also made a visit to the VEVO offices on Tuesday, where she posted a snap of herself beaming proudly beside a giant version of her Cannonball single cover with the words 'VEVO welcomes Lea Michele' printed on the front by the popular music video website.

'So excited to be at the @VEVO office!' Lea wrote in a caption alongside the Instagram snap. 'Thrilled to have my music video for #CANNONBALL premiere soon with them!'
And the work didn't stop there, for on Monday the stunning singer was posing at a photoshoot for V Magazine.
Whilst the bereaved star is bravely embracing life and all the opportunities presented it is clear that her lost love - Cory Monteith, who tragically passed away in July of this year - is never far from her mind.
Lea has confirmed that she has dedicated two songs on her album to Cory titled, You're Mine and If You Say So.
