Mark Wahlberg made that admission when he stopped by Live With Kelly & Michael on Wednesday to promote his new film Lone Survivor.
And when Kelly Ripa asked the 42-year-old actor if his mother made him wear a nice suit for his TV appearance he said glumly, 'My mom's not speaking to me right now.'
Most successful, but not most loved: While on
Live With Kelly & Michael on Wednesday Mark Wahlberg - who has seven
siblings - said he wasn't his mother's favorite
He didn't follow up with an explanation but did appear hurt.
In addition to New Kids On The Block singer Donnie (who's dating Jenny McCarthy), Mark has four other brothers: Robert, Arthur, Paul and Jim. He also has two sisters Michelle and Tracey. Then there are his three half siblings: Scott, Buddy and Donna.
Family matter: The actor - seen here with mother Alma Elaine in 1999 - said he's not talking to his mom
'The mother always likes the one whose doing least well the most.'
Mark genuinely looked interested in the advice and meekly said, 'Oh that's it, I gotta do that.'
Though Mark lives in LA, thousands of miles from his family in Boston, he has been traveling back to his native city to work on his new reality show Wahlburgers - centered on a burger joint - with some of his brothers.
Disbelief: Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan were surprised by the 42-year-old's admission
'I hurt my neck in Hong Kong, it's about six weeks that I've been nursing this neck,' he started.
'The first ride we went on was Pirates Of The Caribbean and I'm on it and then we smashed into the boat ahead of us.'
The jostle was painful for his neck so he didn't go on another ride.
'The guide was like, go on the Tea Cups, and I was like it's not going to happen,' he added.
In pain: The star revealed he injured his neck in Hong Kong and is still nursing it
'People have been dying to see this as a movie,' he added. 'We start shooting in January and resume in April. We will probably be out Thanksgiving next year.'
As for his new film, Lone Survivor, Mark said it was one of his most important movies to date.
'You certainly feel a huge amount of responsibility and pressure,' he said about bringing a Navy Seal's story to life.
'Every time you talk about a movie it is as about your experience as an actor, but this was about those guys,' he added.
'When people want to talk about how hard we trained, it's nothing compared to what they do. We got to go back to a nice hotel room and sleep, they don't.'
Tough assignment: Playing a Navy Seal in Lone Survivor was one of his most important roles, he confessed
