The 67-year-old country music icon has been secretly booked to fill the Glastonbury Legends slot on the Sunday night at next year's event at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.
A source told The Sun newspaper: 'Dolly is perfect for the Sunday Legends slot. It didn't take any convincing - she's always wanted to play Glastonbury.'
Working 9 to 5: Dolly Parton is set to perform at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset
The 9 to 5 hitmaker is expected to perform a set-list comprising her greatest tracks from her lengthy career when she takes to the Pyramid Stage next June.
Dolly is jetting in to rural Somerset from London after performing at the O2 arena on the Saturday evening as part of her Blue Smoke tour, and conveniently has a 'day off' on the Sunday.
The festival insider added: 'It is being kept free deliberately. She'll get a helicopter straight down on Sunday, or maybe even Saturday night after the show.'

Arcade Fire were the first act confirmed to headline Glastonbury last week, with the Canadian indie rockers announcing the news by posting a picture online spelling out four dates for next summer, including the legendary three-day summer festival.
Meanwhile, Lily Allen revealed she would be appearing at the iconic music event last month following a two-year hiatus from the industry.
She said during an interview with BBC Radio 1: 'I'm playing Glastonbury on Sunday night. It's official, it's my second home.'

Elsewhere, veteran rockers Fleetwood Mac are hot favourites to be the main attraction on the Pyramid Stage, so much so that bookies have suspended betting on the Seven Wonders hitmakers being named as the headline act.
Hinting at next year's line-up, Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis said: 'The headline acts are more or less in place. They’re three bands who haven’t played Glastonbury – and that’s important.
'There aren’t many bands left who haven’t played the festival, and before we run out I’d like to persuade the ones on my wish list to come down.'
2013's line-up included headline slots from the Rolling Stones, Mumford and Sons and Arctic Monkeys.
