Hello Igor... Daniel Radcliffe gets into character on the set of the brand new Frankenstein movie

He's already brought one of the most famous characters in literary history to the silver screen, and now Daniel Radcliffe is ready to breathe new life into another.
The British actor was busy on the set of Frankenstein last week, dressed up in the 19th century clothing of the scientist's assistant Igor.
His hair greasy and long, with a five o'clock shadow and dark eyes, Daniel certainly looked the part of of the hunchbacked aide.

But he walked tall in between scenes as no doubt carrying out the deformed stance of Igor would be tiring on the back, and enjoyed a can of Diet Coke while still in costume.

No stranger to the horror genre, in 2012 the young actor starred in The Woman In Black, the classic ghost story of the stage brought to the big screen.
He played the lead Arthur Kipps, tormented by the death of his wife and confronted by a vengeful spirit when he moves to the village of Cryphin Gifford.

Now he's part of the most recent retelling of Mary Shelley's famous tale of an arrogant doctor who through an unorthodox experiment brings to life a monster made up of dead human parts.
The story came to Mary through a dream while she and her husband the poet Percy Shelley, were guests in the home of Lord Byron, the Romantic poet, who challenged the group to write the best horror story.
The Gothic tale has been remade countless time, most recently for the stage in 2011, where Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Lee Miller alternated in the roles of Dr Frankenstein and his monster, in the National Theatre production directed by Danny Boyle.

Now James MacAvoy - who recently starred in Boyle's Trance - will play Victor Von Frankenstein with a script written by Max Landis, the son of famed director John Landis, who made Michael Jackson's Thriller video and cult classic An American Werewolf In London.

 Max has garnered critical attention in his own right, with his original 2012 screenplay Chronicle, which followed three high school kids who get superpowers but end up wielding them differently to fatal ends.

Joining Daniel and James in the cast of Frankenstein are Sherlock;s Adam Scott and Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay as Lorelei, a beautiful circus performer who gets close to Igor.
In director Paul McGuigan's version the story will be told more from the hunchbacked assistant's point of view, and production should continue into March next year.
