What a pro: Al Pacino, 73, keeps his cool, and even cracks a smile, as he's mobbed by fans in LA

He's an Academy Award-winning legend who is surely used to running the autograph gauntlet by now.

So naturally, Al Pacino was as smooth as could be as he gracefully pushed and pulled his way through a mob of fans at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, scribbling his highly sought after signature left, right and centre.

The 73-year-old actor knew exactly what he was doing in his usual all-black ensemble, but seemed appropriately amused when he was asked to sign a baseball.

Pacino kept his Ray-Ban sunglasses on as he breezed through the bustling terminal, wearing an elegant suit jacket along with a silk scarf that was almost as smooth as his
own demeanor.

The actor of legendary status wore his salt-and-pepper locks swept back.

On each of his hands, the Scent Of A Woman star bedazzled his fingers with the same two enormous cocktail rings he's often seen wearing, only enhancing his elegant masculine image.

Seemingly unfazed by the flurry of attention and sea of fans standing in his way, Pacino calmly swept through the airport with a pen in his hand, stopping here and there to gift a prized autograph.

Once he made his way to his vehicle and took his seat, an unusual offering came his way.

A fan poked a baseball in the window of the car, perhaps either hoping the Dog Day Afternoon actor would sign it or take it home for keeps.

The eternal gentleman let out a good-natured laugh, wowing shutterbugs with that jaw-dropping signature smile of his.

And if he was in the least bit weary of the activity, he certainly showed no evidence of it.
It's hard to believe that Pacino - who was trained by the late method acting aficionado Lee Strasberg - has been in the movie game for 45 years, let alone that he is carrying around 73 years on those good-looking shoulders.

It's easy enough to believe, however, that the star's love life - which has seen a slew of beautiful, intelligent women over the years including Diane Keaton - currently features one very lucky 33-year-old by the name of Lucila Sola.

The young actress did not appear to have accompanied Pacino on this trip, so adoring hopefuls may speculate that their favourite is on the market, but it's unlikely seeing as the pair seem to have been going strong for two years.

The hardworking actor has been busily attending to his latest work of art, which is a film called Manglehorn in which he stars alongside Holly Hunter, Chris Messina and Harmony Korine.

The David Gordon Green project follows the story of a man who exchanged the love of his life for a life of crime and is living in regret as he tries to put the pieces back together. They've been filming in Austin, Texas this week.

In 2014, Pacino is also set to appear in Imagine, a comedy/drama which sees him working alongside Jennifer Garner, Josh Peck and Annette Bening.
