None other than The X Factor creator and father-to-be Simon Cowell.
The Brit made the admission to Ellen DeGeneres after she teased him about his rare Bugatti Veyron on her show, Ellen, due to air on Friday.
Car mad: Simon Cowell will appear on Ellen Degeneres' show on Friday, talking about his $1.7 million Bugatti
Simon, who is expecting a baby boy with partner Lauren Silverman this winter, said he bought the black car in 2010 after seeing it in a showroom in Beverly Hills, California,
adding, 'It was beckoning me to buy it. Seriously.'
But, like all good game shows, he phoned a friend and asked whether he should splash the cash. The friend said yes, 'So, the following day I walked in and bought it.'
Ellen was shocked when he said his 'insane' car does 260 miles an hour, asking where he could drive that fast.
The 54-year-old joked, 'I hit 250 on Sunset,' the famously bendy street that runs from the center of Los Angeles to the ocean, quickly adding, 'I'm lying. Police if you're watching...'
Wheely careful: The X Factor celebrity admitted
he has only driven his $1.7 million Bugatti Veyron a few times in the
three years he's owned it
In fact, Simon rarely drives himself and when Ellen asked how many times he had taken his fancy car for a spin he said, 'Twice.'
Earlier the pair had chatted about possible names for his son, and Ellen rightly guessed Simon, with the producer quickly saying, 'I haven't quite agreed it with everyone yet.'
He described it as his favourite name and said, 'I just like the idea of talking to someone else called Simon.'
Baby Bugatti: Ellen surprised The X Factor
creator with a mini-me copy of his super car as a gift for his baby boy,
who is due this winter
So when Ellen asked, 'Your little Simon Jr. is going to want to be like daddy, right?' adding that he would want dad's car, too, she then surprised the celebrity by bringing on a matching mini-Bugatti.
Simon was over the moon with the gift, saying: 'Oh my god. I love it.'
And Ellen quipped about the baby, 'And he'll probably drive it twice in three years, also.'
Meanwhile on Wednesday, Simon denied rumours that he has been looking for an engagement ring to propose to Lauren.
Talking to TV show Extra’s Terri Seymour at the debut of the Jaguar F-Type Coupe at Raleigh Studios in Playa Vista, California, he said: 'No… I haven’t been ring shopping.'
Shopping trip: Simon carried the groceries as he
and a very pregnant Lauren Silverman left a supermarket together in
Beverly Hills last month. On Wednesday he denied that he's been ring
shopping for Lauren
