And husband John Legend made sure to pull out all the stops as he and Nintendo teamed up to hold a Super Mario-themed celebration - and even dressed up as the characters themselves.
John, 34, looked particular pleased with himself as he arrived dressed as the lead character, Super Mario, at the venue in West Hollywood on Tuesday.
Comical birthday: Nintendo and John Legend got together to organise a Super Mario Bros-themed birthday for Chrissy Teigen
Model Chrissy, 27, was also unrecognisable as Princess Peach, wearing a long pink dress and wavy blonde wig.
She took to Twitter to express her excitement, writing: 'AHERE WE GO #nintendobirthday.'
The star looked genuinely ecstatic about her Super Mario-themed birthday, teaming her look with a pair of aquamarine circular earrings, a pair of long white gloves a crown and even wore blue contact lenses to complete her princess look.
The real deal: John and Chrissy's outfits were so authentic they looked just like the game console characters

The pair only tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy this September, so it is no wonder that John wanted to make Chrissy birthday one to remember.
And either the pair are big Nintendo fans, or John Legend thought it would be funny to dress up as the Mario and Princess Peach from the popular game Super Mario Bros.
John had completed his look with fine precision, not only wearing the iconic M cap, blue dungarees and red jumper, but adorning his face with fuzzy eyebrows and moustache.

Pleased: John presents the cake to Chrissy, much to her delight
Overwhelmed: Chrissy appeared genuinely overwhelmed with the cake presented to her on her 28th birthday
Smooching: John and Chrissy could not help a cheeky smooch after all the festivities
They were joined by a few friends, who dressed up as other well-known faces including Mario's partner in crime, Luigi and there were even some toadstools floating around.
Chrissy must have been extra impressed with her husband's efforts after only just performing a successful concert at the Paramount Theatre the night before.
Backed by a four-piece band and two female backup singers, the nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer-pianist performed songs from his current album Love in the Future as well as classics including Used To Love You and Green Light.
Only one Mario: A few of John Legend's friends dressed up a Luigi on the night, but there was only one Super Mario
And on the same day as the birthday party, John decided to perform to hundreds of fans in the Culver City area of Los Angeles on Tuesday morning.
Chrissy and John were actually already married prior to their ceremony in picturesque Lake Como, and said their vows in an American courthouse first.
Chrissy said: 'We actually got married after going to a couple of fashion week shows at Vera Wang, ironically who actually did my dress, but we got married at the courthouse right after.
'We are dumb and didn't realize that our Italian wedding would not be recognized unless we had a real ceremony in New York City. So Irina Shayk was our witness—the most beautiful woman on earth!
