Katie Holmes seems to be having the time of her life in South Africa. The Manhattan resident has been beaming in her travel photos as she tours South Africa where she's filming The Giver with Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Swift.
'Can't get over how beautiful it is here in South Africa,' the actress posted on her Twitter account last week as she showed a photo of waves crashing on a beach.
Her adventure of a life time comes just two weeks before her seven year wedding anniversary to Tom Cruise, which falls on November 18. The couple has been divorced for over a year.

Her first tweet came on October 25 where she wrote, 'Loving South Africa,' and posted a photo of herself alongside Taylor and various crew members on The Giver, a science fiction film based on the popular novel.
Later that day she also wrote, 'On set today filming the Giver. Love working with directer Phil Noyce am so grateful for such a wonderful experience.'
The next day Katie, 34, followed up with, 'Loving South Africa. Me with a zebra,' with a black and white photo of the actress with over sized sunglasses and a hat on. A zebra could barely be seen in the background.

On November 1 she posted a glowing selfie, all made up for her film character from the set. The next day producer Nikki Silver shared a photo of a beaming Katie as the two embraced.
Katie's African trip has been documented by others as well.
On October 21 the actress was spotted in jeans and boots taking her daughter Suri, aged seven, to the Aquila Game Reserve outside of Cape Town.
They smiled for the cameras as they headed out to see the reserve's collection giraffes, elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards and rhinos.

This new and more open Katie - who opened her Twitter account only two weeks ago - is a 180 from the reserved, frozen looking Mrs. Tom Cruise.
Often when married to the action mega star she would be seen gazing off in the distance. This look earned her the title Stepford Wife.
The Ohio native seems to have morphed into an entirely new person since she split from Tom, 51, in 2012. She has since made Manhattan her main residence and has been seen regularly in good spirits as she escorts her daughter to school.
Tom seems just as happy since the split. He has seen a career resuscitation since he starred in the monster international hit Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol which only gained steam with the summer hit Oblivion. His next film is Edge Of Tomorrow with Emily Blunt.
Katie's next film is Miss Meadows with James Badge Dale.
The exes were linked again earlier this month when UsWeekly reported Katie had hooked up with Tom's good friend - and Collateral co-star - Jamie Foxx during a Hamptons party in August. Katie's rep denied to MailOnline there was ever a romance.
Tom and Katie were married in front of 150 people in a medieval castle in Italy with fireworks, hundreds of flowers, and a five-tiered wedding cake.
