It's no secret that he has a fondness for wearing a weave to cover up his baldness.

And John Travolta appeared to be giving a new one a go on Tuesday.

The 59-year-old - who sported a buzzcut just one month ago - showed off his long, lustrous hair, as well as a noticeable paunch, while on the set of his latest film The Forger in Tahiti.

The Pulp Fiction star was seen standing on a wooden pier overlooking the turquoise ocean as he shot a scene for the heist flick.

He wore a blue T-shirt that highlighted his belly, paired with jeans and trainers.

The Oscar nominee sported a small goatee and grey streaks in his hair as he stood beside a woman reclined in a hammock.

The film sees Travolta take on the role of artist turned thief Ray Cutter, ably abetted by the legendary Christopher Plummer, 83.
John's protagonist pays to get out of jail so he can tend to his sick son (Tye Sheridan) but he arranges to do one last job with his father Ray (Plummer) to repay the cartel that sprung him loose.

Travolta seems to be embracing darker roles in recent years.

The actor recently confessed he has a burning ambition to play a Bond villain: ‘I’d love to play a bad guy in James Bond,’ he told the Daily Telegraph.

John is a huge fan of the suave spy, admitting that he admires 007’s most recent reincarnation, portrayed by Daniel Craig:

‘I have two favorite Bonds: Sean Connery and Daniel Craig. They both have ruggedness, class and suave,’ he adds.
