So perhaps Jennifer Lopez was getting ready to sob for the cameras as she waited around on the set of Boy Next Door in Los Angeles on Monday.
The 44-year-old actress looked emotional as she chatted with the film's director Rob Cohen, and even wiped her face with a handkerchief as she psyched herself up for her big dramatic moment.
Ready to sob? Jennifer Lopez brandished some
tissues as she got into character on the set of her new movie Boy Next
Door in Los Angeles on Monday
Paired with a feminine pink skirt, the canny star looked like she knew exactly what she was doing as she went over the day's scenes with the filmmaker.
The saucy actress wore her hair in a casual updo with bangs parted in the middle and silky strands falling around her cheeks, which allowed a peek at her gold earrings.
Latina lovely Jennifer looked like she was listening intently as she held her tissue, which was no doubt a key prop for a scene in which her character pays a visit to her friend, played by Kristin Chenoweth.
Role playing: The 44-year-old actress was seen discussing the scene with her director Rob Cohen
Serious stuff: Jennifer grasped a tissue as she
prepared to shoot a serious scene for the thriller, in which she plays a
single mom trying to evade an teenaged ex-lover who's obsessed with her
Taking direction well: The director and his star strolled and chatted amicably
Her petite four foot eleven frame, however, was completely swamped by the large jacket she may have borrowed from a crew member.
But at least the man-size leather wrap kept Kristin warm between scenes.
Downcast: The star was seen brushing her hair away from her eyes
The lowdown: Jennifer listened while her director explained the workings of the scene
The low-budgeted thriller has been shooting all month in the City Of Angels, and in it Jennifer plays a single mother who begins an affair with the teenaged boy who lives next door and befriends her son.
When she tries to break things off, the young man becomes obsessed with her and becomes dangerous.
On Sunday, Jennifer was comfy and casual in a loose-fitted white top and artsy, flowing skirt.
Something borrowed: Meanwhile, Kristin Chenoweth's man-size jacket
completely swamped her petite frame as she grabbed a snack on the set
These look good: The 45-year-old star was seen picking out something to munch on during a break
Oozing charm: The actress kept everyone entertained and laughing
Boy Next Door, which is set for a 2014 release, is being directed by Rob Cohen who previously helmed The Fast And The Furious and xXx.
Blumhouse Productions, which is responsible for such horror flicks as Insidious and Paranamoral Activity, is producing the movie along with Jennifer's Nuyorican Productions.
On the go: Kristin stayed active by walking around the set and showing off her cute chopped hairdo
Keeping warm: Kristin wore a heavy leather jacket around her shoulders to ward off the elements
Tasty: The saucy actress looked like she was having a great time wrapping her gums around her treat
