Ready for TomKat the sequel? Tom Cruise wants to reconcile with ex-wife Katie Holmes, according to a Wednesday report from The National Enquirer.

'Tom wants Katie and their old life together back,' a source tells the weekly.

'There's no other woman in his life, and he he wants the three of them to be a family again, especially with the holidays around the corner.'

Katie's rep did not return calls to MailOnline. Tom's rep did not want to comment.

The article points out that even though Tom and Katie have not been spotted together in over a year, they communicate often.

'Tom is in constant contact with Katie about Suri via phone and email, and he's realized that he wants Katie back,' the source adds.

This is not a rash decision. 'He's done a lot of thinking lately and came to the conclusion that he's still as close to Katie as anyone else in his life,' the insider adds.

Their seven year wedding anniversary would have been on November 18.

Katie, who has been filming The Giver in South Africa, seemed to be sending her ex a message on Thursday when she posted this quote from Andre Maraux to her Twitter account.

'The real struggle begins when you have to contend against a part of your own self,' the passage started.

'Up to that point, it's all plain sailing. Yet it's only from such inner conflicts that a real man emerges.'

That 'man' could be Tom.

The Enquirer brings up an old report that Tom and Katie hooked up last year when they met to discuss Suri's holiday plans.

'When they got together last year, one thing led to another, and that led to something a lot of ex-spouses do when they're alone together,' said the source.

With the exes reportedly set to meet again soon to go over holiday plans yet again, the passion could fire up for a second time, the publication guesses.

'If Scientology weren't a factor, Tom and Katie probably would have reunited by now,' one of the Enquirer's sources said.

'As it stands there has definitely been a thawing of their icy relationship. But if Katie does decide to take him back, it will have to be on her own terms.'

Tom has been traveling to film movies back-to-back while Katie for the most part resides in New York City with daughter Suri.
