Aren't you meant to be a Top Model? Tyra Banks misses the fashion mark in unflattering outfit and shiny tights for Chinese television appearance

She is one of the world's fiercest supermodels who can make or break catwalk dreams and taught us how to 'smize'.
But even if she has perfected the art of smiling with her eyes, it seems even the most experienced models can still get their outfit choices wrong.
Tyra Banks made a surprise appearance on China's Next Top Model in Beijing, but instead of setting a shining elegant example to her protégés in the making, she came dressed in a less than stylish tight ensemble.

Wearing her long black hair in a centre parting of cascading curls, the 39-year-old supermodel's look went wrong from the head down.
Choosing garish gold Chinese dragon earrings, she paired them with an ill-fitting black bustier, gold plated belt and a short garish marble print skirt.
But perhaps the worst aspect of Tyra's ensemble was the shimmering tights she chose, which did little to flatter her long, lean legs.
Finishing off her look, Tyra opted for a pair of clashing blood orange, white and black peep toe shoes.

Tyra revealed her surprise appearance by posting a picture of her sillhouette leaning against a sunlit Beijing skyline on Instagram,
'Finding the light in the Beijing skies! #RandomActsOfModeling before heading to the set of China's Next Top Model to surprise the finalist!'

China's Next Top Model is in it's fourth cycle with contestants competing to win a contract to host China's Travel Channel, a modelling contract with 2pm model management, an appearance on the cover of Grazia China and the opportunity to walk in a Paris Fashion Week show in 2014.
Tyra has built a large television empire around the concept, as the format operates in over 30 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Malaysia and Thailand who all have a version of the show.
