The 33-year-old is to put her talent for partying to good use as she opens her first bar in central London.
Teaming up with Nick House, the man behind capital hotpsots Mahiki and Whisky Mist, Steam & Rye will have a Great Gatsby theme, indulging Kelly's love for the USA.
New venture: Kelly Brook has revealed plans for her first bar which will open in London next month
The 550 capacity space will open next month in what used to be the Bank of New York in the City of London and will comprise of a restaurant and bar offering live music
and dancing.
The Neo Classical hall has undergone a complete refurbishment to turn it into a spectacular venue which will hark back to prohibition era New York.
Fusing 1920s flapper style, made famous this year in Baz Luhrmman’s The Great Gatsby, with 40’s Americana, the bar is set to be an immersive experience for it’s punters.
Big plans: Kelly's restaurant and bar will be
made up of four areas with the Main Hall modeled on New York's Grand
Central station
‘I have always been inspired by the glamour and opulence of 1940s Americana, and am thrilled to be collaborating on this project with Nick House.’, Kelly says in a statement. ‘This is my first venture into nightlife hospitality, and we’ve teamed up to deliver something extraordinary – there is nothing like it in London’
Man in the know: Kelly is teaming up with her
friend Nick House, seen here with Donna Air, who's behind London
hotspots Makiki and Whisky Mist
Nick, who has turned clubs like royal favourite Mahiki into some of the hottest destinations in London, reveals that he was inspired by early 20th Century America as depicted in ‘movies ranging from Hugo to Gangs of New York’.
He adds that the ambitious project has been months in the making: ‘My journey started almost a year ago as I began to source film set designers, alternative thinkers, illustrators, chefs and mixologists who could help shape my vision into something special and incomparable’.
Party girl: Kelly, seen here on a night out in
London last month, will no doubt be spending time at her bar with her
celebrity friends
To fully ensure his guests are transported to another world, House has enlisted production designer Jonathan Lee, who has worked on a number of films including Head in the Clouds starring Penelope Cruz.
‘The design theme that I developed is based on wealthy eccentricity from a period of great invention, exploration and decadent style,’ Lee explains. ‘As in designing a film, I set out to have the “audience” immersed in this world and take them on a journey through it.’
Drinking den: The venue will also feature the
Cocktail Carriage which will serve a mixture of classic concoctions and
individual tipples
A winding stairwell then leads to the mezzanine level and the Cargo Hold which will be crammed with taxidermy, set off by a glass fronted wall offering a bird’s eye view over the Grand Central Station area.
Eye-catching: The Cargo Hold will be stuffed full of nick nacks and taxidermy with a glass window over looking the Main Hall
The final space is the basement 1st Class Cocktail Carriage, ‘a luxurious retreat to savour extraordinary and exotic cocktails from the richly-laden bar’.
Kelly has been filling her twitter followers in on her ‘exciting new venture’ and with the star now single again, she’s sure to be seen partying in her new bar come November.
