The 28-year-old dancer offered a cryptic insight into the truth behind the couple's parting of ways in a series of posts on his Twitter page.
Despite appearing to suggest that he had no choice but to call time on the 14-month relationship before he 'lost' himself, Tre praised his ex-girlfriend as 'amazing' and thanked all her 'Little Soldiers' for their support in the wake of the split.

The Girls Alous singer appeared to be working a rather urban look in a grey bomber jacket and baseball cap, while loose fitting leather trousers gave a distinctive flourish to her on-trend outfit.
Smart black ankle boots loaned the look a vaguely formal twist as she made her way inside for a meeting at the end of a mixed week.
A spokesperson for Cheryl confirmed to MailOnline on Tuesday that the 30-year-old singer had ended her relationship with backing dancer Tre after 14 months together.
The pair apparently cooled their romance in June and have since remained close friends. Cheryl took to Twitter in the wake of her split news to thank her fans, aka her 'little soldiers' for their support.

Here we go: The singer makes her way inside
Shortly after returning to the UK on Sunday an emotional Cheryl thanked her nearest and dearest in another tweet to her 4,250,000 followers.
‘Having good people/friends/family etc in your life is priceless. I am extremely grateful! And to be able to share parts of it with you all is the best #havingamoment,’ she wrote.
The singer's latest appearance in London on Thursday follows a very public outing by Tre in Sydney - where it was claimed he had been spotted twerking with PR girl Katherine Griffiths during a night out at the city's Back Room club over the weekend.
A source later told The Sun that Tre seemed very close to the pretty brunette - who is said to bear a strong resemblance to Cheryl - despite the pair being surrounded by pals.
'Several people gathered at Kat's place in Sydney for pre-drinks,' said the insider. 'Tre was there and Kat was sitting close to him and he had his arm round her. They were obviously close.’
History: Cheryl and Tre are understood to have ended their relationship in June, but have remained close friends
