And yet Simon Cowell chose to celebrate his 54th birthday on Monday without her, opting to instead party with friends, including his ex-love Terri Seymour.
The TV mogul enjoyed a dinner at Sur in West Hollywood, then proceeded to leave the restaurant with Terri seated on his lap in the backseat of a car.
Where's Lauren? Simon Cowell celebrated his 54th
birthday with friends, including ex Terri Seymour, who sat on his lap
in the car after the festivities in LA on Monday
And Terri certainly seemed comfortable as she perched on the X Factor judge's lap wearing a tiny black mini-dress, her dark hair in voluminous curls over her shoulders.
The pair appeared to be having a ball together, giggling as a blonde woman slid into the seat beside them.
Just like old times: Simon and Terri appeared to
be having a ball together, giggling and chatting as they waited to be
driven away
Ladies man: A blonde woman was seen sliding in beside the pair as they readied to leave
Why the squeeze? There certainly seemed to be
plenty of room in the backseat, even with a third person in the mix, so
it was unclear why Terri felt the need to sit on Simon's lap
His fellow former American Idol judge Randy Jackson also joined him for the celebrations.
The pair were seen affectionately patting each other as they said goodbye after dinner at the posh eatery, owned by Real Housewives' Lisa Vanderpump.
Cat that got the cream: Simon wore his usual
uniform of a white T-shirt, jeans and black boots as he exited the
restaurant with a self-satisfied smile on his face

After parking the car, Simon and Terri apparently went their separate ways but only for a short while.
He walked inside an office building while the former model breezed into a beauty salon to get her nails done.
Birthday surprise: Simon ran some errands earlier in the day with Terri in Beverly Hills
Such a good mood: The usually tough-talking TV critic was wearing a big birthday smile
Meet up with you later: After parking in a
Beverly Hills garage, Simon went to an office building while Terri
headed to a beauty parlor to get her nails done
Polished and pretty: After a while Terri emerged with her new manicure and eventually met up again with Simon
A short while Simon and Terri paired up again and drove back to his house together.
It must have been a touching reunion and a chance to catch up, and surely Terri wanted to know all about the baby boy Simon is expecting with New York socialite Lauren, who is due in February.
Simon also recently hinted his plans to wed Lauren now that she's divorced from Andrew Silverman.
TP'd: Simon also got a surprise 'toilet paper
attack' on his Beverly Hills home courtesy of girl group Fifth Harmony,
but he seemed to take that in stride
Meanwhile, the media mogul had another surprise waiting for him when he arrived home on Monday to find that his Beverly Hills mansion had been 'toilet papered.'
Photos showed Simon's sedate home adorned with streamers of white toiler paper as well as a big flyer that said jokingly: 'Happy 87th Birthday Simon!! Love, Fifth Harmony'
It was a prank played by the girl band Fifth Harmony, who originally rose to fame on last year's X Factor USA and is composed of Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei.

streamers were meant as a prank from the girl group, who appeared on X
