Welcome to the gun show: Action man Will Smith puts his muscles on display as he works out between takes on the Focus set

He might be about to turn 45 but Will Smith shows no sign of middle-aged spread.

The actor showed off his toned physique as he squeezed in a workout between takes on the New Orleans set of Focus on Friday. 

Wearing just blue shorts and trainers, the topless hunk was put through his paces as he completed his workout with a trainer.

Will is in the Big Easy to shoot scenes for his upcoming film Focus, which follows a con man (Smith) who falls for a rookie (Margot Robbie) right as he's planning an elaborate theft.

And although Margot, 23, is over 20 years younger than Will, he looked like he will have no trouble keeping up with her. 
In the movie Will also stars opposite Rodrigo Santoro, who plays a powerful auto racing team owner who wants Robbie's affections for himself.

But Focus isn't the only project Will's set to begin work on - he has a slew of confirmed and rumoured projects on the horizon, including some big-budget sequels.
Will has been confirmed for the title role of Hancock 2, which follows a ne'er-do-well superhero who walks the line between saviour and destroyer.
He is also tipped to reprise previous roles for sci-fi thriller I, Robot 2 and buddy-cop action pic Bad Boys 3.

Will no doubt wants redemption in the aftermath of summer domestic box-office flop After Earth, in which he starred alongside son Jaden.
Though the film fared much better on the international stage, its $27 million on the first weekend was the worst opening for a summer event film in two decades for Will, according to Entertainment Weekly.
