Maybe Tom Hanks has decided to put his
Cast Away diet to the test again, as he appeared tanned and trim at a
tribute gala on Thursday.
The
star was spotted looking incredibly healthy whilst mingling with
attendees at the event in honour of geneticist David L Rimoin at the
Beverly Hills Hotel.
And
although the star has not admitted to any weight worries, the
57-year-old actor looked in good shape whilst dressed in a sharp suit
for the gala.

Rimoin at the event, which he did alongside playing a few beats on a
drum kit.
Tom also presented a signed 'Wilson' volleyball to Dr. Ann
Garber-Rimoin, widow of the late medical genetics
expert, and their children,
Michael, Lauren and Anne during the gala.
He seemed to be enjoying himself at
the event as he addressed the crowd of people, opting to wear a tailored
black suit, white shirt and black tie with white polka dots, whilst
putting on a pair of glasses to read out his speech.

His
recent weight loss could be put down to the stress of attending Jury
Service in, which came to an abrupt end after there were accusations of
'jury tampering.'
The
movie star was approached by a female member of the L.A. City Attorney's
Office during lunch break, who thanked him for his service, but the
prosecutor took note and informed the judge of the woman's
'inappropriate contact' with the two-time Oscar winner.

Never far from our
cinema screens, Tom will next be seen in the title role of Captain
Phillips with Catherine Keener, due out October 11.
It
centers on the real-life captain of cargo ship Maersk Alabama, who gave
himself up as a hostage to Somali pirates to keep his crew from having
to leave the ship with them.
The
League of Their Own actor will also play Walt Disney in Saving Mr.
Banks, due out December 20, about the making of Mary Poppins.
