Gia, who died after a suicide attempt on Aug. 14, posted a Bible verse to her Twitter just one day before she tried to hang herself at her home in New Orleans. We told you that Gia attempted suicide on Aug. 12, and her family released a statement giving a bit more insight into what happened. Gia Allemand’s Spiritual Last Words On Twitter Revealed Gia posted this verse from Proverbs 21:3: “Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering.” It’s unclear what was meant by this tweet, but we’re sure it has something to do with her state of mind at the time. Gia, who rose to fame on season 14 of The Bachelor, was admitted to University Hospital in New Orleans on Aug. 12 and at the time no one knew why she was in critical condition. But TMZ is reporting that Gia tried to hang herself and her boyfriend, NBA star Ryan Anderson, is the one who found her. Gia Family Releases A Statement About Attempted Suicide Below is the statement that Gia’s family released after she died: While in her residency in New Orleans on Monday night, Ms. Allemand was found by her boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson, following an apparent suicide attempt. Mr. Anderson contacted 911 and emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Tuesday, Ms. Allemand remained in the hospital unconscious in critical condition and on life support. Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites. Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming in another official statement once available. On behalf of the family, we sincerely ask for privacy at this time. Gia and her boyfriend reportedly had a very rocky relationship. Ryan also released his own statement: “I’m deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile. She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed. All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared.” Celebs & Friends React To ‘Bachelor’ Star’s Death Jake Pavelka, who was the star of the show when Gia was on it, took to Twitter and wrote: “Please pray for @GiaAllemand… A dear friend and one of the sweetest women I know… #powerofprayer,” tweeted Jake. Vienna Girardi tweeted: “Please keep @GiaAllemand in your prayers. I do not know details but she is in the icu. Stay strong and I love you. xo.
