Angelina Jolie is a hands-on mother as she bonds with daughters Shiloh and Zahara during a wintry walk in NYC

She's an icon not just of the silver screen but of both philanthropy and motherhood. 

And on Friday, Angelina Jolie was spotted enjoying a relaxing break with two of her six children, daughters, Shiloh, eight, and nine-year-old Zahara.

The trio appeared delighted to be spending quality time together as they clasped hands for a stroll around New York City.

For their walk Jolie looked stunning in her trademark black and white.

Her monochrome ensemble included a white blouse tucked into a business professional knee-length black skirt with a long black coat for warmth.

She added some sex appeal with black knee-high heeled leather boots and wore her shiny brunette locks down with loose natural texture.

Her daughters layered up in loose hooded jumpers, with black trousers and trainers for Shiloh and faded skinny jeans with star designs and tan lace-up boots for Zahara.

Earlier in the day Angelina was seen signing autographs outside the Paley Center for the International Council Summit.

The Mr. & Mrs. Smith star was flaunting what appeared to be her wedding band from husband of three months, 50-year-old actor Brad Pitt. 

She appeared to be wearing the same ensemble, except for the addition of a tailored gray blazer in place of her long coat worn later in the evening.

Brad and his beautiful bride have had an eventful year, and are now likely to receive numerous nominations at January's Golden Globes awards.

Jolie has been getting talked up for her efforts on latest project Unbroken, a heart-wrenching saga about Louis Zamperini's survival in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during WWII.

While her husband Brad will most likely be working the awards circuit too as he handed in a good performance in his WWII epic Fury. 

The newlyweds are currently co-starring in upcoming film By The Sea, which Angelina has been directing in Malta following the couple's August nuptials at their residence Chateau Miraval in the south of France.

Angelina and Brad have six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox - ranging in age from 13 to six.
