Instead, the 15-year-old is learning the real value of money – by earning his own.
Victoria and David Beckham’s eldest child has started a weekend job at a West London coffee shop where he is paid £2.68 an hour.
'Value of money': Victoria and David Beckham's
teenage son Brooklyn, pictured with his fashion designer mother in
November, has reportedly taken a weekend job in a London coffee shop
Due to his age, he cannot work for more than seven hours on a Saturday and has to be given an hour’s break after four hours.
A member of staff, who did not want to be named, confirmed yesterday Brooklyn had worked a few shifts and ‘got on OK’ with other baristas.
News of his decision to make his own money and not sponge off his wealthy parents earned him praise as a good role model for other teenagers.
One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘Good on Brooklyn Beckham who’s got himself a job in a coffee shop at 15 when he could just lay back in a life of luxury!’
Hard work: The 15-year-old is thought to already have done a number of shifts as barista, according to The Sun on Sunday
Another added: ‘Mad respect to Brooklyn Beckham for getting a job in a coffee shop and not just sponging off his dad.’
A source close to the family revealed Brooklyn would have been encouraged to take the job by his parents.
The Beckhams have three other children – Romeo, 11, Cruz, nine, and Harper, two – and have spoken in the past about teaching their brood about hard work.
Barista: A source told the newspaper: 'Brooklyn
and his three siblings have all had a great start in life but David and
Victoria want them all to know what hard work is like'
Last year Beckham, who has retired from football, said: ‘We try to lead by example, by showing them it’s important to work hard.
‘That’s one of the key things me and my wife have always done … We juggle everything around the family because our main priority is the children, simple as that, and it always will be, but being hardworking is the best thing you can show children.’
The coffee shop declined to comment.
Multi-talented: The teenager, pictured in April,
is believed to have inherited his father's footballing skills after
making his model debut in March
