And David Hasselhoff has now generously donated some of his most treasured possessions from his television heyday to a charity auction as part of brand new show, Celebrity Home Raiders.
Airing on the Lifetime network on Thursday night, the episode saw the 61-year-old actor allow host Kit Hoover and auctioneers Darren Julien and Martin Nolan to root around his home in the hope of finding some lucrative memorabilia.

The former Baywatch heartthrob was hoping to raise an impressive $20,000 for his favourite charity, The Starlight Foundation - a New York-based organisation which aims to grant wishes for seriously ill children - and managed to find several items that he was willing to see go under the hammer.
Trawling around his lavish Malibu rental property, The Hoff agreed to auction of a mini KITT car from his popular 80s adventure series, Knight Rider, in which he played hunky protagonist Michael Knight.
And while he gave host Kit Hoover a whizz around in the real KITT vehicle, he wasn't prepared to part ways wiht the priceless motor for the show.

The Hoff also generously agreed to put a one-off special edition Baywatch pinball machine up for auction, as well as a signed version of his original bright red Baywatch jacket.
He joked to the Los Angeles Times: 'Darren is a cool guy. It gave me a chance to tell all the amazing stories, but he undercut me on my Baywatch pinball machine.'
But the star refused to say goodbye to his beloved leather Knight Rider jacket or a giant 12ft replica of himself that was created especially for his role in the Spongebob Squarepants movie.

Speaking about the cut-out, he said: 'They built a 12-foot replica of me. I was either going to turn it into a mailbox or a headstone, but I kept it in my screening room to scare people.'

Evidently excited about his appearance on the small screen, he wrote on his Twitter page: 'Hey guys make sure to check out my episode of #CelebrityHomeRaiders on @lifetimetv tonight at 10PM ET/PT! A big thanks to Julien's auctions!'

Julien, co-owner of Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California, said: 'Closets and the drawers in the bedroom furniture are always interesting.
'If a celebrity has Stickley furniture, we will sell it, but the iconic and personal items bring the highest bids.
'And seeing the celebrity on TV with the item that’s going to auction is the best form of authenticity.'

'Martin and I can be the bad guys that give them the reality check. Some of the celebrities are not happy with the evaluations, and it shows.'
Other celebrities set to see their properties go under the hammer include the likes of rapper Ice-T and Coco, KISS bassist Gene Simmons, N Sync’s Lance Bass, actor David Cassidy and singer Debbie Gibson.
The Hoff's memorabilia will be auctioned off during the April 11-12 Hollywood Legends auction in Beverly Hills.
