The 83-year-old is alleged to be backing the children's current guardian Tito Joe Jackson, whom she shares custody with, in a recent court filing.
The petition for 'termination of Guardianship' is said to have been initiated by Michael Jackson's cousin Anthony James Jackson II, RadarOnline reports.

According to the website, Katherine's attorney Sandra Ribera submitted court documents requesting 'an order to quash and/or dismiss the Petition for Termination of
Guardianship of the person by Anthony James Jackson II.'
It is currently unknown why Anthony James II made the initial filing, but it follows a tumultuous year for the Jackson clan after 15-year-old Paris is believed to have attempted suicide over the summer.
Paris and her brothers currently remain under the guardianship of their grandmother Katherine and cousin TJ.

reported to have requested to become the legal guardian of Prince,

In addition, TJ is said to have made a filing at the end of last year stating that Paris, Prince, and Blanket wanted to remain in his custody.
Radar reports that an official hearing is set to determine the children's status on January 28.
Meanwhile, Paris was hospitalised on June 5 when she overdosed on pills and cut herself in a failed suicide attempt.
Dispute: Radar also claim that Paris is at
'loggerheads' with her Grandmother Katherine Jackson, who wants Paris to
return to the boarding school
Judge Beckloff said he was taking 'no further action' and the current guardianship set-up, which is shared between Katherine and TJ, will remain in place.
The decision came on the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, who died on June 25, 2009, from a fatal dose of Propofol.
