Home, sweet home! Julianna Margulies shows off her exquisitely decorated Manhattan apartment

There are perks to being a good wife.

And for Julianna Margulies living in a fabulously decorated apartment is one of them.

The 47-year-old actress flaunts her gorgeous 2200 square foot Asian-influenced New York City home in the February issue of Architectural Digest.

In the white room: the 47-year-old bought the loft-like dwelling ten years ago

Located in Manhattan's trendy SoHo district, the Emmy winner's loft-like home features 10-foot ceiings and airy double-paned windows.
The sleek living room includes a cool grey couch, glass coffee table, African carved post and several Portuguese Colonial candlesticks.

For the kitchen, Julianna had specially crafted steel shelves suspended above a stark white island.

Family pictures keep her office looking cozy, while the wood and steel furniture and beautiful Eames chairs add a slick appeal.
To get the modern relaxed elegance, the Good Wife star entrusted the skills of designer and interior decorator Vicente Wolf.

'I'm obsessed with design magazines,' says Margulies. 'And every time I'd get to a room I loved, it was Vicente's. He has this way of making spaces not just beautiful but homey, modern and useful.'

Real housewife: Julianna married handsome husband Keith Lieberthal in 2007

Although she bought the home ten years ago when she was single, the former E.R. star now shares the dwelling with her lawyer husband Keith Lieberthal and their six-year-old son Kieran.

The talented brunette initially planned on flipping the home but soon realized how much she loved it.

'There’s just this sense of calm here,' she says. 'I didn’t realize what a smart buy it was.'

But with award season in Los Angeles in full swing, the busy actress is having to spend a lot of time away from her New York home.

Last night she accepted the People's Choice Award on behalf of The Good Wife, which won for Favorite Network TV Drama.

And on Sunday she may be able to add one more accessory to her home's decor, as she's nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Drama.
